Benwell Lad
" It must be the noise, it must be the noise, Enzo Thingy it must be the noise". What utter drivel, why employ a so called elite manager if all you're going to get is Steve Bruce type reactions when it goes against you ?

Boey_Jarton
Very strange second half - reminded me of the last 15 mins of the Leicester home game that sealed champions league a few seasons ago. We flipped from being in total control to the playing the occasion and hanging on. Defending the lead was somewhat understandable but we were unable to string two passes together and had no outlet despite an extra man. Chelsea were excellent second half in fairness, probably buoyed by having nothing to lose. Credit to Howe for first half masterclass that allowed us to outclass a decent opponent despite adopting a new system to accommodate the injuries. NG32
Good god, Chelsea were utter knobbers yesterday. Awful to watch them niggle away the whole game. Cucurella winds me up a treat, I have to keep calm when he is so close to me pitch side.
JigsawGoesToPieces
2 hours ago, Groundhog63 said: No. I called it pre-match. Odious club from top to bottom. That Cucurella? 😂 Spanish Sideshow Bob acting the cunt all game. 🤡 The angry, little racist Argie? How much? I don't mind Caicedo, tbf, he's a good player. All he was today was a poor man's Joelinton 😂 How tf he didn't get one booking. Never mind two/ten. Jackson's moment of madness was just that but they were leaving stuff in and leading with snide all the time. Palmer? I've got a, largely irrational, dislike for the kid. Can't put my finger on it. Maybees the goal celebration? Maybees the haircut? Maybees it's because he makes James Milner come across like Stephen Fry? Or maybees it's because I'm sick of the massive fawning over him my comms teams 🤮 Its the haircut for Parmer, looks like been cut by a blind man on meth. Lush Vlad
Fletch and McCoist were waffling on about all sorts of shite during the game. But credit where it’s due. I think they’re always great for goals and they’re now synonymous with some big goals for us on comms. They seem genuinely excited and interested in it all. But more importantly. They stay quiet for 5-10 seconds after the ball hits the net and just let you soak up the atmosphere from the crowd. The polar opposite to a lot of commentators. Particularly that bellend Drury. It’s why it makes it all the more annoying that they seem incapable of having any pauses from talking/waffling for the rest of the 90 minutes. Ikon
Is Drury the one who sounds like he's having a rough shit while commentating? Very annoying to listen to.

southernmag
I think one of the hallmarks of Newcastle nowadays is we play with genuine belief. There's real hope around the place, purpose and drive to all we do, and a lot of that is down to Eddie of course. It's awesome to see us absolutely taking it to 'big' teams and believing we can beat them. In saying that, I wonder if the 2nd half v Chelsea was evidence that we've still got a way to go to being able to really assert ourselves and control some games. It was like we slipped back into the rather negative "let's hang on to this" mindset. I'd like to see Eddie really insisting we control games better, even if it's just holding onto a lot of the ball. We're more than good enough to do it. Edited 5 hours ago by southernmag
LionOfGosforth
6 hours ago, Groundhog63 said: Not the best away trip for this Chelsea fan 😂😂😂😂😂 Wasn't there some incident with their fans after the 1-0 (Willock) 2 years ago out side the Black Bull? If memory serves, they were starting on normal fans minding their own business and got a hiding outside once a few realized what was going on. Another club with far too many knuckle dragger fans still stuck in the dark ages of the mid 80s. Another reason to loathe this shitbag club.
GeordieToon
A Quote from a Chelsea fan on theshedend.com, After better recent results, I was hoping we could go there and somehow get the 3 points yesterday. But when you look at it, you realise Newcastle have a 100% better coach than we do. They have a 100% better striker than we do (they actually have a striker - we have a f**k-wit). Their keeper is better than ours. Their wide players are better and more consistent than ours. And to cap it all, in their squad they have Livramento and Hall, both getting plenty of game time who we deemed not good enough. In short, as much as it pains me, Newcastle are currently a much better run football club than us and right now, more worthy of CL football. Lets just hope we address that pretty soon. It hurts them Knowing they lost 2 very good players in Livramento and Hall
Elma
A comment on the their BBC page: Jeff: Frustrated, We didn't seem to have a plan for this game. Everyone knows what you are going to get from Newcastle, They are a bullish-physical side. They get three to four bookings every week. Chelsea needed more beef in the line-up including a big centre-half. We are lightweight. This has to change if we are to compete in Europe. It's interesting that they are currently top of the yellow card league with 96 (2.66/game) - we're in 16th with 64 (1.77/game). Some people just see what they want to see. Physical doesn't mean dirty.

Don’t underestimate the impact of Botman coming off made to the team - really hurt our shape - there was no like for like player to come on Not having Trippier - Hall - Willock as options hurt us too - was a good example as any of how we lack some quality which hopefully this summer addresses
