When you get paid what footballers do, I’m not sure the cost of anything comes under consideration.

Um ... it's seen as a factor in US sports when players are able to move to teams in states where the taxes are lower. Actually gets mentioned a lot!

Do players not take into account the cost of living when moving out of a London to a Newcastle?

I actually never seen this mentioned as a plus or pulling factor for clubs in parts of the country that are not as expensive to live in.

I’m not sure if this is serious when they’re on £100k a week

Guess a £1m house costs £10m in London.

It's definitely a thing in US sports.

“But have you seen the price of a pint down there, Yoane?”

19 prem goals for Brentford last season and people are turning their noses up and saying it’s underwhelming?!

If we are seriously in for him and we got him OVER THE LINE™️. Consider me very much ‘whelmed’

The whole tax rules are vastly different, also if people think footballers are paid a lot they should see Basketball players

“Alright, you’re Muslim and you don’t drink, but that’s not the point”

Our scouting network has been nothing more than “Premier League” :D

It's not the most exciting, however ... it's crazy to think that if we end up with Elanga and Wissa, that would be two players that between them had 40 goal contributions in the league last season.

£20m apart in valuation

from ekitike to Wissa sums up this window tbh

It will now depend on if they are happy to keep a player who wants to leave. No club will pay 50 million.

Exactly!

Yeah, the rules are different, but ultimately it's the fact that they have more of their money to play with!

I guess perhaps the difference maybe isn't anywhere near as significant as in the States though.

Would you say the same about Isak? If he wants to leave should we just sell him cheap ?

Of course not as as fan, but if he pushes for a move we wouldn’t get the same price for him imo. A little different here as Wissa has 2 years left so this is their last chance to get decent money. Ours for Isak is next summer.
