I mean 'talks ongoing' suggest we havent.

Yeah, there was the tweet the other day that did say Brentford would be open to lowering the fee if the bulk of the money was paid upfront, and so I'm guessing we're trying to figure that out with them.

Serious question, who the hell is responsible for the transfer now?

Honestly, this window and the last one have just felt off. We’re not the same club that used to do smart, efficient deals post-takeover up until the Tonali deal.

Talks ongoing means we probably aren't that far apart. Within an extra 10-15m maybe.

Think we would stretch to 32m with add ons to 35m. They probably want nearer 40m

I think £30m with some add-ons gets this done. This is the type of offer you can’t turn down for a 28 year old entering the final 12 months of his contact. It’s a fair offer for a player that wants to move and they shouldn’t stand in his way

I hope we've done our homework and have a good idea that he actually wants to come here over Spurs.

You know, like we did with Ekitike and Liver...never mind.

It’ll look pretty fucking shit if Spurs step in and sign him. Club needs to get this one through the door.

I'm planting my flag in the ground now and saying if we get it done, it will be a brilliant signing.

Same here. I always worry about fees we pay for players in this PSR world, but you can’t get a better ready made forward that would be ‘happy’ to be second choice

We got journo's co-ordinating their Twatter posts again ?

Sounds like a tactic to prompt Spurs into action. "Alright me old journo mates it's Agent Sleazeball here, you know the drill, just mention NUFC have bid and let's see what happens next (taps nose and gives a knowing wink)"

Half the people saying 25 is insulting and half saying 35 is too much

It’s such a sticking plaster of a transfer. If we’d prepared better we’d never be going for it but as it stands we clearly have an extremely limited scope to our transfers

I don’t like the thought of spending £30m + on a player who will be 30 next year. However, he’s 8th in non-pen goals in Europe’s Top 5 leagues last season. Ultimately the proof is in the pudding - if the neckosaurus fails at Liverpool and Wissa’s goals fire us back into the CL and maybe another cup win then it will be worth it.

Its a bad starting point when Forest bid for him not long a go.

Forest's bid is irrelevant unless they come back in for him.

Man Utd just paid 70m for Mbeumo. We'd be wise not to fall into the same trap. In reality, I would picture Wissa being with us for two seasons max and then heading back to France. I know there's a growing narrative of us being total idiots (and there's some good evidence to back that up) but bar Trafford I don't see a lot of options to do things differently than we have done.
