Kid Icarus
Best mental state to be in is that Wissa is shite and not worth signing. Then if we sign him he's everything I've ever dreamed of.

Hanshithispantz
Wissa is a better striker than Ekitike atm (I think Ekitike will be quality at Liverpool though), my only issue is neither Wissa or Isak are a great target to hit, and I don't think they'll be playing up top together unless it's for the last 30 minutes of a game we need a goal. It's entirely possible the formation change was just people putting 2 & 2 together and Ekitike was always planned to be backup first and foremost though. Yep, again people that think he’s just “fine” haven’t really watched him. That’s grand, but they should stop pretending that their judgement carries any weight. aussiemag
He was even more impressive than Mbeumo last season. His finishing is top class.
Stottie
Wissa averages about two fewer pass attempts per game than Isak for us, playing for a worse team. Wilson was only about half as many, basically just a moocher.

I’d be happy to sign him but can’t say I’m blown away by the prospect. Edited July 23, 2025 by Coffee_Johnny

Terrymac1966
Superb finisher very happy with our interest. 4 or 5 years in him @40 mill is a good purchase price if possible. With Elanga we will have added a lot of goals and assists for next season. Very content if this comes off 🙂

He’s one who’ll improve with quicker players around like we have, because he’s quick in the head. He has a desperate desire to score goals. These goals aren’t “scrappy”, they’re instinctual. He’s just a very good pro footballer and we couldn’t ask for a better Isak rotation option.

I'm not excited about him, but I worked out that it's just because he hasn't been hyped at me since before last season ended like Mbuemo. If he had been then I'd likely have been swept away in the hysteria around him. I very rarely voice my opinions because I know very little of players we haven't really been linked with before and, as you say, my opinion carries no weight at all. Mainly because of my lack of knowledge of a player so I can contribute little to a well constructed discussion. I reserve the right to be super critical of us signing double barrelled wankers though, regardless of knowledge
NSG
Plays almost exclusively between the posts and in the six yard box. Exactly what we need tbh.

Loki679
A goal every 200 minutes at the top level. It's ok, not great, not terrible. One could almost say...... fine.

I feel like if you put together a compliation of any strikers goals over the course of a season they would have the same percentage of scrappy goals. Plenty of scrappy/tap in type goals for Isak (not to mention pens), it's just goals like the one at SJP v Liverpool live longer in the memory/get shown more. Hanshithispantz
If you're scoring 5 goals a season and they're all scrappy then it's probably a bit of luck, but 19 goals is obviously down to having the fitness and knowledge to constantly be in dangerous positions.
