The College Dropout
No issues with him as a finisher. He seems to have it all - left foot, right foot, headers. Even Isak is super right foot dominant

He’s one who’ll improve with quicker players around like we have, because he’s quick in the head. He has a desperate desire to score goals. These goals aren’t “scrappy”, they’re instinctual. He’s just a very good pro footballer and we couldn’t ask for a better Isak rotation option. Not denying anything you’ve (sarcastically) said. Just a high percentage of scrappy goals and he doesn’t get my pulse racing, personally. Still would be a good signing.

Definitely no resale value and no guarantee how many prime years left thats really just “fine” to me. Feel free to disagree.

Zero
Mind you I have been shouting for these kinda signings for long as we need covers, and we started our revolution by signing relatively old players like Trippier Burn and Pope. Assuming they contributed 4 very best years, the cost is around 2-3m per year which is great value to the club. However Wissa isn’t. That’s 30m for maximum 3 years. 10m per year for these kinda players are too expensive. Edited July 23, 2025 by Zero

black_n_white
For me it feels like a signing we had no intention of doing at the start of the window. I get he’s coming in a back up though. From what I’ve seen he’s primarily a goal poacher. I’m not a fan, don’t shoot me though it’s just my opinion.

Also he didn’t start playing exclusively as a number 9 until last season.
Optimistic Nut
Didn't realise he played so much on the left as well as up front. Might still see Barnes or Gordon go if we need the money elsewhere and he's the hybrid winger/striker? Edited July 23, 2025 by Optimistic Nut

The Pedro pursuit has confused me a bit. Simplest option is that Wissa is being signed as a CF and nothing else needs to change.

His goal and assist tally last season looks great. 23 goal involvements (19 and 4). Much better than previous three seasons (15, 10, & 8). It’s sensible to be curious about whether he is creating those chances himself, scoring goals from positions where it is hard to score, or whether the free flowing attacking style he is playing in means lots of chances are coming his way: that most professional footballers, let alone strikers could score. Highlight reels give the opportunity to showcase what a player can do (beyond the simple numbers). The couple I have watched of his don’t impress me that much, personally.
