Wissa is a better striker than Ekitike atm (I think Ekitike will be quality at Liverpool though), my only issue is neither Wissa or Isak are a great target to hit, and I don't think they'll be playing up top together unless it's for the last 30 minutes of a game we need a goal.

It's entirely possible the formation change was just people putting 2 & 2 together and Ekitike was always planned to be backup first and foremost though.

Not what I've seen from him.

“Doesn't really contribute a huge amount outside that, doesn't get too involved in build up play”

Yeah that’s just nonsense

19 goals and 4 assists in the Premier League for an ordinary Brentford team.

"He is only fine ..."

Yep, again people that think he’s just “fine” haven’t really watched him. That’s grand, but they should stop pretending that their judgement carries any weight.

A high percentage of scrappy goals, but he was there to score them. I’d be happy to sign him but can’t say I’m blown away by the prospect.

Yeah just a couple of bicycle kicks, 20 yard screamers v us. You know, scrappy goals. He’s one who’ll improve with quicker players around like we have, because he’s quick in the head. He has a desperate desire to score goals. These goals aren’t “scrappy”, they’re instinctual. He’s just a very good pro footballer and we couldn’t ask for a better Isak rotation option.

I think I've worked out why this happens. I'm not excited about him, but I worked out that it's just because he hasn't been hyped at me since before last season ended like Mbuemo. If he had been then I'd likely have been swept away in the hysteria around him. I very rarely voice my opinions because I know very little of players we haven't really been linked with before and, as you say, my opinion carries no weight at all. Mainly because of my lack of knowledge of a player so I can contribute little to a well constructed discussion.

I reserve the right to be super critical of us signing double barrelled wankers though, regardless of knowledge :D

Yeah, once I'm tuned into them then I do a bit of stats scouting.

I feel like if you put together a compliation of any strikers goals over the course of a season they would have the same percentage of scrappy goals. Plenty of scrappy/tap in type goals for Isak (not to mention pens), it's just goals like the one at SJP v Liverpool live longer in the memory/get shown more.

A goal every 200 minutes at the top level. It's ok, not great, not terrible. One could almost say...... fine.

1 in 2 and not on pens? It's a great record

That's 10mins per match away from top level like, especially for a rotation player who doesn't take pens.
