Emmanuel Emegha of Strasbourg could be worth a look. 14 in 27 in top league. Snap him up for 20 million.

Or Kalimeundo, nobody is in for him yet. 45-50 million. Dudes a player.

Pity J David is gone. He's a star in the making. But so is Kalimeundo.

Yes both of those would be good

Why dont we look at those players? Maybe we have and he's shite but there surely must be gems in these lower leagues of big countries.

We 100% would have, if Mitchell had stayed and got it his way.

I sincerely hope that this was doused in sarcasm as I interpreted it.

It is, I'm just frustrated at some people on here who are so negative.  Our transfers since Eddie took over have been incredible.  I don't think you could really classify any as a failure.  Maybe Targett but he was great when he first came in, injury etc, not the right fit for Eddies systems.  Thats why when the window opens we don't immediately sign everyone we need.  Because he wants the best and won't settle for less. We've lost out on a few put I'd rather it that way than just signing people for the sake of a body.  We'll be fine and we'll sign what we need.

Aye I'm in the same boat mate. I'm generally sick of the negativity now tbh - I get it - I get how it's come about, but it's like a bad drug to many folk especially online - to the point they lose a sense of reality.

We've done exactly this with that Spanish kid from the Spanish second tier and loaned him out for the season.

Targett and Osula has been pretty bad signings so far. But other than that, pretty pretty good.

Wasn't Osula like £10m? I think I he's got a lot of good attributes and raw potential and as a 3rd choice striker/back up winger he's useful.

As a 1st choice...definitely not [emoji38].

£10 mill, with up to £5 mill add ons.

I know. It was the same last summer and we went on to win a  cup and qualify for the CL. Let's all just get behind the team. Whatever the team is and have fun watching them. We have an incredible manager.

Yep - for me, any criticism this summer is about landing targets, the transfer record for actual signings post-takeover has been absolutely first class.

Targett wasn’t a bad signing at the time either imo. Everyone was pretty happy with that at £15m after his loan spell. We outgrew him too quickly, granted. But Targett did a job for sure.

Either way, both cost very little money by today’s standards. We haven’t had a single big money flop in the Howe era, which is basically a miracle.

We clearly have a very methodical approach to scouting and do a ton of due diligence before pulling the trigger. So I’m willing to give them a little benefit of the doubt when they decide to spend 30m+ on a player. They’ve earned it.

Targett was widely considered a success and we were all pleased to sign him permanently. He got injured before Brighton away about 2 games into the following season, the back 4 was class for a bit and was the basis for our success on the way to finishing 4th. Then we snapped up Hall and Tino and his eczema was running wild, he didn't stand a chance really. He's been fine during pre-season, nowhere near first choice but a more than capable squad player. If someone is willing to pay him his £600k a week (ha) then obviously he can go but otherwise, he's fine.

I thought he was shit the other day tbh [emoji38]

I mean he's pretty solid on the ball, but the thought of a half decent winger running at him scares the shit out of me.

This is on the BBC Papers/Transfer round up, and comes from Caught Offside, but if there's even a smidge of truth in this, shows how petty the scouse c*nts are.

Loathsome club.
