Honestly the talk of him replacing Isak or Wilson is silly.

He is one of the most proven PL strikers atm and will be perfectly fine as our main striker for now.

He'll have to be with shit for brains striking and not the fucking ball.

I’m thinking it’s less and less likely Wissa and the big ticket Isak replacement comes in. Maybe go Wissa, sell Isak and go for a top hybrid 10 who can also operate as a striker.  Maybe do something creative, bring some plans forward from next summer, a loan with an option maybe.

I doubt it, I think he's been known to make exceptions if the player is both good and experienced enough, and also we're looking at a situation of absolute necessity. Gordon through the middle doesn't work, we know it, Eddie knows it. I think if he's signed by say Wednesday next week, he will start Monday night.

I would say do it. Which examples are there of Eddie doing it ?

Mate, Isak is going nowhere, let it go.

Think you are right about that. Strikers with Isak's potential would most likely be too expensive this late in the window.

Never know though, Isak himself was a late signing :)

Say to him “not telling you to do it but after what the fans have gone through if you stayed you’ll miss the afcon for this season then it’ll go a long way in their books, just putting it out there😁”.  I also think he’ll be a hit here as you can see by his hunger to be here he knows this is huge for him, last big chance if you like and I feel he’ll run through walls for the cause.

This skipping the AFCON talk is so disrespectful. Let players represent their countries without the belittling. No one would suggest a European to skip the Euros for the sake of their club.

Tonali played immediately (although granted he had preseason with us), Isak fittingly enough started against Liverpool just 4-5 days after signing. I think Dan Burn started about a week after signing too. There's probably more, my memory isn't great with such things.

That's because they're not during the season.

We didn’t have Barnes or Gordon then, so he literally was the only option.

ASM played more times as a striker in his career than Gordon ever has

ASM was injured for Isak’s debut.

But I understand your point.

For me the fundamental difference between Isak coming in for his first game with not much training time and Wissa doing the same is that Wissa hasn’t kicked a ball in any form of match since May.

Fair enough, I don’t remember it all that well. One things for sure a rusty Wissa surely has to be a better option than Gordon thru the middle. It doesn’t work

Would hope with how long this has gone on, that the deal has been agreed for a while and we where just waiting for them to get their replacement.

This. In the situation we are he should be on a plane tonight tbh.
