Was thinking that myself. Seems odd this "story" has come out a couple of hours after our bid was rejected.

It’s quite clearly utter bollocks . Guess we’re at that point in the window though.

Hang on why are we assuming Spurs will agree a fee and we don't?

It will come down to who the player prefers and he's wanted Newcastle all summer

He will still get champions league football at spurs. I think he'd choose them because everyone is against us.

This 👆We also don't know what his relationship with Franc was like, just because he was his manager doesn't mean he liked/got on with him.

In what world could Palace afford Richarlisons wages

Not sure what world you’re living in, but he’s not on that much. Spotrac reckons less than Eze, Daichi and Henderson, and the same as Nketiah was last year.

Our wage bill is stupidly low now as a percentage of turnover. Think it’s 41% vs everyone else well over 50% and Villa at 96%.

If he got a bit of a raise (as most players seem to get when they move between PL clubs) he’d still be Palace’s top earner.

Would they want to do that? Maybe they would, not sure tbh.

I mean obviously I stand to be corrected, but unless Palace have decided they value Richarlison at £60M and are happy with a straight swap this just sounds like lies. Richarlison has just had a kid, is happier than he’s been for ages and may finally be with a coach who will play to his strengths. Wissa is a year older and going to the AFCON this year unless I’m mistaken. It smells more strongly of bullshit than anything else I’ve seen this Summer.

Why does anyone take player swap rumors seriously? It never, ever, ever happens.

Wish they happened more often, though I understand why they don’t in football. Player trades are so much interesting than straight transfers.

What absolutely fucking gobbledygook bullshit are them transfer insider twats spouting now

The monetisation of Twitter will be the downfall of humanity as peoples brains turn to mush from constantly reading such utter drivel

Seagulls will take over the world as their brains are now becoming more evolved than most humans

I think this is just what happens when the big guns get their business done early and Sky Sports et al have idle hands.

Spurs have plenty of money, it's just the Levy doesn't allow the club to spend a lot of it, Is that right? (Nowt to do with this transfer, just curious).

He won't spend more than what we offered on Wissa.

We'll get him, of that I've no doubt. It just depends when. I think if the offer we made today was near the deadline it's accepted but they know we are desperate

He got 19 last season in a far inferior team, could score a load for us, who knows.

I was being a bit pessimistic, also considering that he would miss at least six extra league games this year over last. Agree completely though.
