worked well with Livramento to keep Liverpool’s right side quiet.

assisted the winning assist

Put another on a plate for Isak to make it 3-0 which he missed.

We've signed Ramsdale, Thiaw, Ramsey, Elanga, Woltemade and Wissa (🤞🏻).

We may yet sign another, but it's looking doubtful.

That's hardly the work of a "piss poor" executive team.

Well, the proof will be in the pudding. If we get through the 1 st phase of the CL and have the squad depth and talent to qualify for it again next year they will have done a good job.

Yes it turned out well in the end. I even think it was a deliberate strategy to smoke out the cartel clubs so they can't fight us for the real prize, Woltemade.

Cunts always get their way. Us continuing to deal with this dipshit shows our fundamental misunderstanding of what we were supposed to be doing today.

Guess Jamie never learned that from daddy. Nepo cunt.

As many as possible, you want to sell from a position of strength into a market which isn't flooded with talent.

We want to be in a position where we decide who we sell as part of our long term squad planning goals, as things are now we get dictated to and we sell for low prices as a result of that.

We want to create situations whereby our squad is built with long term goals in mind as PSR dictates thats what needed.

Yeah, I agree. These guys need time to get used to things and some help. Having some older, more experienced players really makes a difference. Like, Trippier would've helped Tino and Hall, and Schar/Burn helped Botman. Wilson helped Isak, and so on. The main thing is, while we're getting new players, we need to mix them with experienced guys who can take the heat. Is Wissa overpriced? Yeah, probably. But he'll take some pressure off Big Nick this season definitely and that's worth a few million on its own, and helps the model you are proposing to succeed as well as keeping us at the top end of the league constantly.

As is always the case (and as Eddie reiterates every time he's asked), you never know truly how successful a transfer window has been until 6 months or a year later.

I think it’s possible to think he’s a good player, think it’s far too much money for a player of his age, realize we desperately needed another striker, believe this is terrible long term strategy unless there’s a wink wink future Saudi deal lined up, spot the difference between him and Isak, have confidence he’ll score 15+ goals, and think we got played by Brentford, all while still coming to terms with selling Isak for an amount that simultaneously feels low and deflating while also being one of the largest fees ever.

My brain is a puddle.

What pivotal role did Harvey Barnes play? Going through the starting Xl I think pretty much every other player contributed more. [emoji38]

When was the last time you watched it? He was brilliant.

The more I watch the match the better his performance gets. It's crazy how much went through him attack-wise and he did everything very well.

Yea, i understand that logic but he fee is simply too much especially given this guy did exactly what Isak did, 'gram statement anarl.

I think we have plenty of experience in the squad already but that's just me. As I've said, we simply left it too late and are bounced in to a position whereby this looks like a good deal/idea.

It is what it is, lets just hope we can qualify for he CL again to mitigate the cost of this.

Ok so about £10m in overpay, maybe we can "recover" some of that in his contract considering how desperate he was to come here.

This is the guy Eddie wanted (and myself). He had the joint 2nd highest non-penalty goals in the PL last year, he is exactly what we needed along with a top prospect that will be Isak's long term replacement.

Don't give a shit if we paid too much. We have fixed nearly every hole in our squad. Up ahead is a CL campaign where we start off with Barcelona at home.

Drop the fucking pessimism.

He's not a baller or a bagsman but he is a trawler and a tradesman even though we as a club don't seem to have cast a particularly wide net. That is to say that he makes the right movements and puts himself in the position to score goals while also being able to thrive in a number of positions. Of course righteous indignation over Isak's behaviour might have carried us to a few wins this season and we've lost the moral standing to bear that out. But hopefully his goal contributions will more than make up the difference.

The Woltemade deal made me believe this a little bit more. Certainly some of our bids earlier in the season didnt fit with having Woltemade as an option. Our interest was low key known months ago too apparently.

As for the window, we were dealt a tricky hand and other players had a bigger bankroll but we came out evens, if not a little up.

At yes the Harvey Barnes who paid a pivotal role in the cup final win, what a disaster.

Wissa will do great here and prove to be far better than his detractors realise.

But overall he’s a 7/10 player. We get our use, but he’s not going to push us on as he’s remarkably average in a lot of games.

Wissa is the same. Of our signings this summer, none of them scream “that will close the gap”. It’s more of, they’re good for our style, which when spending £250m+, you want something more.

A player who's prem proven scored 19 last season doesn't go for less than 50m.

Edit. Didn't know he only had 1 year left.

2 years left - club have a 1 year extension option

I agree, but Woltemade is our close the gap player (in time) and Wissa keeps us up there with depth we’ve never known in that position.

We've got nothing up front right now, dude.

Big Nick needs a Wissa like Isak needed a Wilson.

Think about it this way: if Wissa scores 20 goals this season in all comps and we get a top-five finish, a Champions League run, and do well in the FA Cup, we'll be saying what a bargain he is.

Let's see how things go before we say it's a bad deal.

Howe's usually right about this stuff, so these opinions probably won't age well.

Personally I have full faith wissa proves his transfer fee. We will be screaming bargain by January.
