I understand our hands may have been tight, but I find it difficult to get onboard with letting Isak go for significantly less than it cost us to get Woltemade and Wissa in, taking into account the 10% of Isak’s fee going to his former club. Primarily the club have royally balsed up the Wilson situation, who should have been replaced more than a year ago.

I get what you are saying but you would like to think that Woltemade/Wissa will score more goals this season than Isak/Wilson got last season, so if you look at it like that it isn't so bad. Also I don't think it is significantly less? It is usually 10% of the profit on the fee (correct me if I am wrong), so that would be just shy of £7m, so we are getting £123m for Isak and the combined fee for the other two is £128.5 I think.

He is one of the best players, so it is likely he plays both matches. But tbh, playing in South Sudan on a dirt patch and then in the madhouse that is Kinshasa against Senegal with the World Cup on the the line are not occasions for gaining match fitness You are just as likely to collect something else, so my hope is that he comes back in one piece.
