The graph is an accurate representation of data centre water usage by common online activity, so in what sense is it a 'misrepresentation of the data'? What data are you referring to? "the impact AI is having on energy and resources" - OK, what impact is it having on resources? What resources? Relative to what? If anyone's interested in the reality of the subject, this is a good starting point: https://andymasley.substack.com/p/a-cheat-sheet-for-conversations-about?open=false#§water If you're more upset by AI usage than you are kids watching YouTube, you're not being rational and have fallen for a moral panic without bothering to understand the data. Shame about Wissa like. Where’s the data in the graph from ? As it stands, it’s just a graph with no context in terms of its source. Which makes it of little value If we know where the data is from we can have a decent discussion about its merits Edited October 8, 2025 by bobbydazzla

Shame about Wissa like. Maybe also accept that you don’t know what you’re talking about as no one has access to all of the data. Image generation, video generation, music generation via AI are all happening at an alarming rate and they are recognised as using a huge amount more energy than asking chatGPT a question. We don’t have a clue what the actual data really is as companies aren’t releasing it. If you think that these companies all care about being carbon neutral and creating a better world rather run greed to be the market leader then fair play to you

Erikse
I wonder how much energy and resource we use in an average NO match thread. A bad run of form must be horrible for the water usage. Edited October 9, 2025 by Erikse

The disadvantage of media today is more platforms to fill "column" inches to. The good news is you can skip past shite and ignore it. That didn't need to be that long it was a minute video at best worth of information but its their job and if its what's required of them I guess I can't moan too much. Always the usual caveat inserted in all of it " my sources say" " my information as it stands right now" " things of course can change" may all be true of course just annoying its sometimes guess work dressed up and back trackable by the statements above. They pay the wages for the whole period he is injured but you're only eligible to claim if the injury is 28 days or longer. So we'll get 2 months of wages (at a guess) paid back. At 140k rumoured per week, that would still be around 1m though.
