Did he even get a touch today? Got 20 minutes and can't remember him even getting a single touch - mainly due to the chronic lack of service but even so, he just seemed to get swamped and surrounded

I'm guilty of this too but I feel like a lot of us have pinned our hopes on him to turn things around, when in reality he probably won't be fit to start a game for another month.

Didn't we get told 4-6 weeks at the point of injury? Been about 14 weeks now and he's still not in a fit state to properly contribute.

Heaps of misfortune around this signing so far, I just hope he's good when he is fit.

Just like any other striker when away, miles away from others, chasing shadows.

We’re putting a lot of stock in the ‘big man little man’ thing given Wissa has played all of his best football in a 4-3-3 and Woltemade absolutely is not a target man.

Its not really a big man little man (though they are). Its not like we'd be launching balls at Wolts head for flick ons.

I don't think we'll see them on the pitch together at all. Maybe the odd final 5-10 minute dice roll in a knockout game.

I'd be stunned if they did 90 mins of pitch time together this season tbh.

Could only really see it if Wissa were out on the left and Big Dub central.

I remember 2023 we were getting battered at Brentford (A) when Eddie decides to go two up top with Isak and Wilson at half time - both score and we win 3-1. I think Wissa and Wolte might be a better partnership on paper given their different skillsets - just hope we try it.

Did it at Fulham at home as well. Wilson started, game was drifting to a 0-0 draw, Isak off the bench to play alongside him for the last 20, he scores, we win 1-0.

I think he needs 45 minutes tomorrow from the start.

Agreed - I’ve always thought it better than injured players start with a proper warm up. Rather than 30 mins late on after a few sprints/stretches down the touchline. Based on Howe’s comments, I think he starts.

I think it could help Woltemade too. He gets to come into the game against more tired opposition rather than having tough battles from the start.

Thinking more 10 and a striker. Wissa has played in a 2-man attack at Brentford at times too.

Them playing together is our only route to the top 5-6 imo.

Probably need Osula to be fit or another body in January for Howe to even try it. Not having a replacement striker could be a catalyst for even more late losses.

Can pivot between formations which is fine to get some rest.

Well I would love to see it, too. It’s not hard to imagine how their styles could blend. Could be our very own modern version of SAS (Shearer and Sheringham) double trouble!
