Been very disappointed with him but it’s early days.

FWIW I don’t think he’s a late sub game changer, by that point the pattern of the game is defined and we know whether or not we’ll be able to get him into the game.

But we paid a £20m premium for him because we needed him this season.

I agreed with it at the time because I thought we were buying guaranteed goals, but his general play has looked really sloppy so far. Hopefully that's just rust through the injury lay off.

That's true but the injury ruined that

Paid £20m more than he's worth as we needed him. Don't sign anyone in Jan in case we don't get value for money.

Wissa wasn't a panic buy, like. We paid more than we wanted to, but we had him in our sights for weeks. Planning to go into the season with only a rookie and Osula is a banter suggestion; I wonder how that would've gone down after the Isak sale.

He was a good signing in theory. Still might be once he's settled in the team. Pain in the arse that he isn't up to scratch immediately, no doubt.

I still think he'll come good, but his general play has been shocking in the last few games. Also needing an extra touch against City when all he had to do was hit it first time. Wtf was that? Any good striker takes the shot when it's on, they don't give the defender a second chance.

Then how did we go from low 30s to 55 on deadline day if he wasn’t a panic?

There’s paying more, then there’s scrambling around with minutes to go, because all eggs were put in his basket.

We went into a season with Almiron still RW last season because we couldn’t get the deal right. What changed this summer with the striker?

If you can't see the logic in our decisions (and the context) then I dunno what to tell you, I don't think any of it is rocket science.

Honestly man, I've responded because you've quoted me but I cba to engage with you. If that reflects poorly on me, so be it, but you're just relentless angst and negativity - whether you're right or wrong I just can't be bothered.

We'd have been better of getting DCL on a free.

Maybe! But there was cup win-scale rejoicing on here when he signed for Leeds so it shows what we know doesn't it.

Don’t watch the game. Take it he wasn’t good?

Came on in the 67th minute, barely got a touch. With that being said we were quite shit, our first shot on goal came in the 84th minute or something.

Still think people need to chill like, he's played 260 minutes in the league for us coming off an serious injury. Was never going to be a bang for the buck at that price but incredibly harsh criticising him having played so little.

I am a bit concerned. He's never really been prolific until last season, and was only playing ligue 2 into his mid-twenties.

I think he's hit a purple patch and we've splashed out way too much. The basic skillset doesn't seem to be there. Isn't that fast, awful touch, awful positioning.

Hopefully he'll improve.

Wissa, Ramsey and Elanga all concern me tbh - that’s a lot of money spent on very little return

My only real problem with the signing is that we could've done more to get it done earlier in the window so he could've got a full pre season under his belt.

If we did value him at what we eventually paid, then we were lowballing them and it didn't pay off.

He could've still got injured obviously but a full summer could've at least had him up to speed tactically.

I think Ramsey will turn out an ok signing, he's been a lot better recently.

I agree on Wissa and Elanga, decent outlays for much return so far.

But I don’t, that’s the point.

Before window opened, we sniffed for Delap, Chelsea moved and then we were looking at wanting to keep Wilson. We then went for Etititke which then blew up the whole Isak saga into the spotlight. We then targeted god knows how many strikers, Isak saga still unknown, signed Wolte, then buckled on Isak and went back for Wissa.

If Wilson stayed, would we have just signed the one striker? All unknown, which makes the logic behind our decision unknown.

Especially when summer before we couldn’t get the RW and was happy to go with Almiron / Murphy again, and it yielded our most successful season in our life time. Cancelled Osula loan as fear was Wissa may not happen, so had some trust in Osula being needed?

I dont blame the club with this signing. Yes we paid a premium and more, but we needed two strikers, and at that moment Wissa was the safest buy we could do.
