I was really excited about Wissa. Many people on the forum said he was a fully-fledged striker who had scored lots of goals. So far, I haven't seen any of that.

Woltemade played very well for the first few months. Since Wissa joined the squad and is now usually in the starting eleven, Nick's form has plummeted. It could be a coincidence, I don't know.

The signs were clearly there before Wissa started playing.

No chance he passed the buck, surely. Fairly mad suggestion, surely the captain said he was taking it.

I want my centre forward demanding it. He was second penalty taker behind Gordan or so we were told…

Hmm, OK, I just don't think a young new signing is going to be taking the ball off Bruno if he wants to take the penalty.

Did he give up the ball voluntarily, or did Bruno make it happen? On TV, it looked like Nick was going to shoot, didn't it? I must have missed something...

Perhaps. I saw a guy afraid to shoot when he came on. I remain a fan of his, but if I’m striker without a goal in this many games I’m demanding it.

It looked to me like Nick wanted to take the penalty. I can't imagine he didn't. Goals are the only way out of a slump. And I don't get the impression that Nick is afraid to take responsibility. Think about his penalty goal. You need guts to take one like that.

Perhaps, but to me, it looks like his confidence is on the floor and I doubt he put up much of a fight to take it. He missed in the shootout, I wonder if that has damaged him too.

Agreed Cisse was actually good tbh

100%, Cisse may have strolled about the pitch at times but he was actually a really good player. So far Wissa has strolled about the pitch and not been very good at all, so that's a worry. He was genuinely good last season though, so I still hold out hope, but he's been very, very poor for us so far.

We all knew that 55m was way too much for a 29 year old with only one very good season as a striker and not much else to write home about, but given the pickle we got ourselves into by the end of the window it was very much a case of "That's way too steep for him but fuck it, needs must! At least he'll hit the ground running"

I know he got injured straight away but his lack of effort has nothing to do with with a stop-start pre season or an injury, he looks like a guy who's chucked it.

A real throwback to the sort of shite who kitted up for us in the 'wonga era'

If Bruno has the ball, a young striker who has only been in the team for a few months will not refuse it.

Perhaps, that's certainly possible.

Brentford taking a step forward after losing him, Mbeumo and  Frank is a humbling.

Hope the club is paying attention and we don't start hearing about a small pool of players to pick from in the summer again.

His replacement was actually the Toney replacement and had an ACL coming from 1 year in Belgium and 1 year in Bulgaria (and the year at Brentford injured).

Dango is 5 years younger, bought from another PL Club for less money, also a winger who can play as a 9 - looks a way better player than Wissa.

There’s so much quality out there when clubs know what to look for.

It’s painful because we used to be one of those clubs.

This guy looks like he has declined physically from last season, tbh. I dunno if I've seen him look comfortable or seemingly at full exertion once this season.

Is that not down to no preseason, a serious knee injury and next to no training with his new team? Clutching at straws a bit, but I just don’t believe he is this bad.

Or maybe a guy who saw us as a final big payday

I’d have started him today, with a point to prove, but fuck me that’s as bad as owt as has gone before.

Not just saying it after the event but I wouldn’t have. He’s fucking hopeless. Genuinely. Cunt has 72 year old knees.

The only race he’s in danger of winning is ‘quickest way to waste £55m of all time’.

The worst use of funds in many a long year this prick.

 whilst I admire your levels of disdain I’m not quite there but fuck me, today was as bad as owt Riviere or whoever gave us.

TBF, I’ve been saying it for months. He's fucking woeful. Even at 15 goals a season he’s a terrible deal commercially. Fuck knows how you’d describe him with his current output…
