Coffee_Johnny
Wissa has missed out on some big, memorable for life, games. Must be a real slap in the face/leveller. Especially as we have reverted to playing the two strikers—sorry forwards—we had before he and Big Nick arrived. You think you are going somewhere for big money, huge profile, and CL games. At least he got the first of the three.

Menace
I don't think any of our signings this summer have been "great value" I think Ramsey has been about market rate and Thiaw has been a good signing for the price but none have "wowed" me personally.

Could be wrong, but don’t think we have ever spent more in a window and it ended up being what we thought it looked like, working our way far too far down our wish lists. Don’t think there is much wrong with our potential player identification, now we can (could) afford to go for finished articles the feckers just don’t want to come. lovejoy
Just now, TheBrownBottle said: Milan had agreed a lower fee with Como in the same window we bought him. So? The circumstances then changed. The fact is we could move Thiaw on now for what we paid (we’d actually get a lot more). So the deal had worked for us and proved to be value. He’s played more minutes than any other player in Europe. We can’t say the same for Woltemade, Wissa or Elanga, granted.

Ok, well my take is there’d 100% be a taker at £35m or whatever we paid given the fact he’s had a strong first premier league campaign, scores goals from defence and is back in the German national setup. its madness to suggest otherwise, imo. £35m is not a lot of money these days for that profile. CallumG6
Vaguely remember Wissa saying in an early interview about playing in the champions league and the excitement around it. To not even get on against Barca at the Nou Camp must be a kick in the bollocks for him, as we’ll not be in it next season. Toys probably go out the pram now. If he looked the part at any point this season he'd have been worthy of a place in the team. He can't turn round and say he deserves to start given his performances so far. I'm hoping after a pre season injury free he'll do the business next season
Skeletor
He's the signing that annoys me the most. The fee, the lack of being arsed, the lack of contributions. Never go for players who are on strike ever again.
Superior Acuña
He might not be arsed if his attitude is what people think. He’s played in the CL and got a CL goal, he can always say that .

TK-421
Does anyone have a decent idea how the new rules (SCR/SSR) affect making a loss on a player, if we indeed, decided to cut our losses on Wissa and sell him for (significantly) less than we paid? SSR, Sustainability and Systemic Resilience is that part related more to the sustainability and profits/losees, etc. Under PSR, it was c.£105m total loss over 3 seasons (i think) allowable, which obviously a decent hit on a £55m transfer fee (i.e. not balancing the books on it) would hurt. But I've had a look at the rules and I find it unclear how such a loss might affect us under SSR (Sustainability and Systemic Resilience).
