He’s not earned a run up front, stick him on the wing and get him working his bollocks off.

I was watching him at half time the other day with the subs and the fitness coach

He was at the back blowing out his arse

Thomas Frank coming back to the prem and taking Wissa on loan would be the best scenario I think.

Sell him now and we get 20m max and we probably have to pay some of his wages.

The best scenario is that he picks his arse up and performs something like the player Brentford fans loved and rated extremely highly.

Maybe just the vibe he gives off and how it looks but I just think he always looks half arsed. I'm not sure Woltemade knows how to play in this team either but I just don't get that with him. Woltemade seems desperate to succeed and I think his recent bad run has really devastated him.

The amount of times I've seen our wingers putting balls into the box and Wissa is just ambling around outside the penalty area just really grates on me. Whether he knows his role or not he should know that in those situations he needs to be busting a gut to get onto the end of things. Think he's really testing Howes patience now as well.

I saw him trying flicks and lay offs early on in his return and they just weren't coming off, but the intent was there. A lot of poor first touches as well so to me he just looked rusty.

For the accusations he's lazy or just doesn't give a fuck, that would be a surprise, he looks really happy here. I can understand why people would think it, but it's just opinions at the end of the day. If Howe shares that opinion, then that's an admission we made a massive blunder going for him in the first place. Even at £30m you wouldn't want someone like that at your club.

I’m thinking that’s no longer realistic

Get him playing in the reserves to get his fitness up? Or is that not a thing these days

He's fit according to Howe. Just not performing as expected for whatever reason.

Probably why he's not getting games then? I get people trying to be optimistic but I don't see it personally, he's got his big contract and hefty sign on fee, what's there for him to "kick on" for.

He certainly talked a good game when he joined on how he spoke to Papiss and couldn't wait to get started. He's been honking.

Howe says Yoane Wissa, who was an unused sub against Barcelona, is injury free, ahead of Saturday's trip to Chelsea in the Premier League, which is live on Sky Sports.

"Yoane is fit," said Howe. "Fitter, probably, than at any stage in his time with us. He's training with the group whenever we train and no injury concerns at all.

"The challenge for Yoane is, when introduced and on the pitch, he's got to perform."

No nonsense from Eddie here.

Yikes. That is damning.

If this guy doesn't turn things around by the end of the season, I think he's going to be gone in the summer.

Good luck shifting him on given his wages.

If he's fitter than he's ever been since joining us, that doesn't really line up with the problem with his performances being through lack of effort does it?

It absolutely does line up with it - his lack of movement isn’t a fitness issue, it’s a ‘I can’t be arsed’ issue.  I’ve never seen Howe talk like that about one of his players.

What's the theory? That he's put all of the effort into getting fit then can't be arsed once he's on the field?

Being unfit = potential docking of wages.  Being disinterested on the pitch doesn’t.

Howe’s just said that the lad is fit and needs to buck his ideas up - the only defence for him previously was a lack of fitness.  Howe isn’t the type to call players out in public, so he must be steaming.

Quite rightly. £55 mill of investment not being arsed.

100%.  Howe will know what bad signings can result in for managers.  The likes of Wissa put his position into question.  I’m pleased he’s called the lad out - it sometimes feels like being gaslit when managers go on like they can see something we can’t.  Football isn’t rocket science - it’s usually patently obvious when there is something more than a loss of form occurring.

Wonder why though. He looked to be arsed for Brentford. Maybe the intense training has done him in [emoji38]
