He is a Slovenian playing in Germany, I can forgive him for not knowing much about us and jumping at the chance to join. He can learn to love us. How much of him wanting to move and the club seeing him as the best saleable asset to cash in on is also something to consider. However we cant wait forever and I would love to give all the time in the world but its big money and we need an answer. I know little about the player, but if one of the red flags being mentioned is "poor finisher", he at least outperforms his xG and has done for two seasons. Ekitike scored 15 off 23 xG, league leading underperformance. The darling of poor finishing stats in our league is DCL, in case you need to be told. A fine example at SJP just a few weeks ago. I don’t think you’d be hearing “He’s interested in what Newcastle have to say”. Somebody here, said, very intelligently I thought, he’s a young foreign player, in a foreign league and it may be he doesn’t know that much about us. It may be we aren’t the draw we think we are.
