Mattoon
I think the next 24-48hrs are crucial and hopefully bring an end to this saga, I'm hoping the right people are advising Sesko and the case has been put forward regarding the differing trajectories of Hojlund and Isak. We might not have the draw of a legacy club like Man Utd but we have the on-the-ground personnel to turn Sesko into one of the best in the world if he puts the work in and he can be an integral part of what we're trying to build here. I am excited by his potential, but he's not the be all and end all, there are a few other options left, but with the additional work we need for CM and RCB as a minimum, it would be nice to get this one sewn up ASAP. Sibierski
If Isak comes back to training and attitude isn’t honking, we pull out of this deal IMO. Serves us no purpose to still be chasing this when supposedly no other clubs are making bids right now. If we have to prioritise someone, just get Wissa and get a CB / CM signed up too urgently. Optimistic Nut
If Isak stays I think we still go all-out for Sesko and he's integrated ready for next season to take over as the main man. Far easier to find a Wissa/Larsen/Watkins in the £40m bracket in a year's time than it is to try to sign an Ekitike or João Pedro as we've been finding the hard way this year. St1pe
Random thought - Leipzig are obviously playing the game a bit here trying to ramp up the fee for a bidding war. Have we ever had a situations where multiple clubs have fought it out for one of our players? There was a bit of something around Cabaye but nothing major from memory. Sure Sissoko was linked to a lot of clubs after the Euros when we were relegated. Think Arsenal were keen but Spurs offered more. Nothing about the number , it’s about replacements As soon as we get a top elite forward , Isak is off Won’t be £150m either I can see an agreement on £130m plus add ons (maybe £5m) Liverpool have him in the bag As soon as we went in for Ekitike it was obvious

It’s all about the number. Replacements won’t come cheap and we have a squad to build if we want to continue to progress towards our objectives. There’s no way we’re letting Isak go for a penny less than out valuation. Not with 3 years left on his deal and with only a direct rival at the table. All I can say is I’m glad none of you are negotiating on our behalf. We hold all the cards yet most of you can’t wait to hand our world class striker over to a rival club for less than we’d consider good value ffs Edited August 4, 2025 by Unbelievable

McCormick
Imagine getting Šeško in and Liverpool show up rock-hard thinking they’ve got a free run at Isak now, only for us to give them the same “emphatic” rejection as before. Would save the summer for me.
Geogaddi
I still think Isak leaving depends on us getting Sesko or another top class replacement. If we can't do that then no way do we let him leave and go into the season with Wissa as our main striker .

The fact that I truly believe that the club will be much better off selling Isak next year (both financially and on the pitch) and the complete trust I have in Howe and the technical staff to make it work. Let it be known he can be picked up from next June onwards for anything over 120m and we’ll have the likes of Barcelona, Bayern and PSG at the table vying for his signature if he’s had a good season, which will be in his and out interest. Ahhhh ok, I agree we shouldn't sell to Liverpool anytime period and that seemingly means peddling him next summer. I don't have such confidence this will happen mind

Exactly this. We've also been firm in our stance. There's been no 'we'll let him leave when a replacement comes in'. That's all been agent/media conjecture. Agree with this, would be good long term planning, but the caveat is Sesko needs to want to come if we are going all out to outbid Man U. At the moment he seems too ambivalent and happy just to coast along at Leipzig until his preferred option becomes available.
