I would only consider Jackson if it was a loan deal with an option to buy.

Could insert a clause in whereby if he scores 15+ goals in the league then we'd buy him for £60m

then he comes to Newcastle, scores 14 in double quick time and then downs tools safe in the knowledge Liverpool will buy him from Chelsea in the next window.

Same here, and I'm a Jackson critic for over a year now. But as a replacement for Wilson....hell yeah.

Jackson would be the Isak replacement, similar playing style and circa £60m. Not saying we should buy him but this mythical ‘Isak replacement’ doesn’t exist. We just need two strikers who can score 15+ goals a season.

We just need to replace Isak's goals to stand still. Two strikers scoring 15+ would be an improvement.

Well I'm assuming we aren't selling Isak, and we need a striker to replace Wilson. Tbh it doesn't matter who he's replacing, we just need a striker at this point, otherwise we'll be watching Gordon bouncing off defenders for the next month.

If he's available on a loan, with an option, I wouldn't be dead against this. We're in Chris Wood territory here of just needing a body up front to pull defenders around. Until Isak comes crawling back.

And actually maybe those two wouldn't be so bad with Jackson as fresh legs / cover for injuries.

Jackson is woefully underrated on here and I don’t get it. Maybe because he plays for a Chelsea and we hate them or he’s a bit of a lunatic sometimes, I dunno. He’s literally the only option we have available to us for a striker that’s ready to go in the league and has clearly got talent and physical qualities that we could build on.

We won’t sign Wissa for the ridiculous fee that Brentford want for him no matter how desperate we are.

Depends what the real chelsea fee is he's on good wage and currently around a 1 in 3 goal scoring record.

Some reports say 70 or 80m others 50 or 60m how much he goes for really determins to me how good he is if that makes sense.

Perhaps get the marketing department to do something about becoming a legend and already naming a street after him in Gateshead (…just don’t show him the street!).

How about Jackson Street in Walkergate?

Would it work like that when we only play with one striker?

Well yeah over the course of a season both will play either off the bench or alternating. So plenty of chances to score goals.

So they'd need a strike rate roughly the same as Salah? 30+ goals a season and very rarely would they be on the pitch at the same time.

Why would they need to be? Your not winning on comes the sub striker like Wilson used to do.

🎵

We signed him in a fever, hotter than a Simla phall.

Now we really want Jackson, ever since Isak’s fire went out.

Give it to Jackson, he doesn’t mess around,

Yeah, give it to Jackson,

Look out Jackson’s in town. 🎵

His response:

🎵 When I breezed into that city, I made people stoop and bow. (Hah!)

All them fans went and made me, teach 'em football like they didn’t know how!
I’m Nicolas Jackson, I don’t mess around.

I’m Nicolas Jackson, no.9 for the town!🎵

(Yes. It seems this summer has indeed driven me to this.)
