He's so good Chelsea hastily replaced him twice over, you must know something they don't...
 

Some of us watch actually games. He stinks as a striker, assuming you value them scoring goals & converting chances at an acceptable rate

All this is mostly valid but note that you mentioned nothing about him scoring goals, which is like 80% of the job

Jackson is a great signing, I’ve said it before but Howe would have this guy playing like a menace. He’d add to our overall game in the final third.

The season before he joined Chelsea he surpassed his xG, and was in the top 98% of forwards for non-penalty goals per-90.

 

14 in 34 the season before last at 22 is a solid return.

 

He's missed some absolute sitters, there's no doubting there's a lot of work to do with him, but he's shown enough to suggest he could score a lot of goals in the right side.

I believe that's the point, because Jackson hasn't been efficient in front of goal for Chelsea doesn't mean he wouldn't be elsewhere.

 

The environment matters and maybe it would be better here.

Anyway the point is that goal return is massively due to what's around you and how the team is set up.

 

Looking at that in isolation without considering the context and assuming it wouldn't be better or worse elsewhere is quite silly tbh.

That’s fair enough, though I would suggest that at his age he has a fair bit of scope to improve his goalscoring efficiency, especially in a side that suits his strengths better than Maresca’s Chelsea, who are far more possession based.

 

I mean he’s far from my ideal signing, and the name when it was first suggested definitely didn’t get me excited. However, I can see how he’s a decent fit for us.

I used to think he was bobbins, but he's definitely improved and I think Howe could work his magic on him.

 

Any sort of loan deal should be an absolute no-brainer for us in our predicament, regardless of whether we sell Ballsak or not.

I like stats, they can be instructive but that's for a player I know little/nothing on and not someone I've watched comprehensively in this league.

14 in 34 in a high performing side where a natural goalscorer would leave with 20+. 

He leaves so much on the table, no striker is perfect but he's warm as hell.

Again, Chelsea brought two guys in promptly (neither world beaters), that should be a sign itself

We're desperate, so it's understandable that some try to paint this in good light but I can't deny what I've seen, he's not a good striker, good player but terrible finisher

Same people championing a potentially incoming will turn on him as he missed sitter #5 for the season

he got chances galour at Chelsea, what transient style of play do we have that'll suddenly improve his finishing?

I've already said he has all those things, I've repeatedly said he's a good player but a poor finisher. 

Didn't need to read an article to confirm what I already know watching 

 

60m for a guy to get 13 goals + loads of frustrating moments is not my idea of a good transfer

Do you know how often goal scorers hit 20 in a league season?

 

Over the last 10 years it’s been 3 players on average who get 20 in a season.  Kane and Salah have done it 6 times, Haaland 3 times, Aguero 3 times, Isak twice, Vardy twice, 10 others 1 time. It’s incredibly difficult to do. Last season there were 5 players to do it and for the 6 seasons to last it was 2 or 3 players only.
