Better off viewing Jackson not on what he is now but what he could be with some decent coaching.

He has a number of attributes that are better than what Isak has, but he needs a lot of work on both his finishing and composure in front of goal.

We may need to lower our expectations on the "Isak replacement" though.

I disagree. We need to not sell him this summer and then have a year scouting a suitable replacement before selling him next year.

What's Jackson done to fall foul of the no dickheads thing ? I know little about him apart from watching him play when hes scored regular enough without having stand out games (which you can get away with I suppose as a forward).

The fight on the pitch over the penalty and the red cards thing is all that springs to mind.

in a different team and with the strong leadership group we have and EH no-nonsence approach, I doubt that shit would have happened. I am still sold on Jackson relative to what else is available at this late stage of the window

As others have said preception on Jackson as a deal will depend on the fee and is he an isak replacement in the sense of allowing isak to leave.

If we pay say 70m and isak goes we have had a bad deal.

If its a loan with obligation or fee of around 50 or 55 due to his age its a best of the bunch pickup.

The discipline issues and scoring  around 1 in 3 should be a worry again depending on fee. Would like ramos personally but he lacks the prem experience Jackson has and has shown a desire to stay at psg.

agree on the price but I don't think anyone is going to pay the suggested 80m...we might end up with 50-60 plus a sell-on clause.

Realistically there is no like for like Isak replacement available in the market, I doubt there ever was although you could argue Ekitike / Sesko. (Liverpool did not view Ekitike at the same level of Isak based on a number of factors)

So we need a striker NOW, regardless of which label we want to attach to him and regardless of whether Isak leaves or not.

Hypothetically Liverpool bid +150m on deadline day and force our hand, leaving us with Gordon and Osula until Jan.

If we think prices are extortinate now, try negotiating for a striker in Jan when you running a negative goal difference. We'd be reeking of desperation.

Talking terms on Tuesday.

We'll be making content by Wednesday.

And on Thursday and Friday and Saturday.

Announced on Sunday.

The way this window has gone it’s more likely to be I’m walking away…

🎵 Nicholas Fkin Jackson (man)… 🎵

🎵…it is for real! He might well be Newcastle’s no.9, if we can sign someone, anytime…

Wissa, Sorloth, Strand-Larsen then Jackson

I think I’d rather have Jackson than Strand Larsen but I guess a lot depends on how we plan to play.

Not sure how I’ll feel about selling Isak if we get two below-elite strikers.

I honestly don’t think our overlords have any intention of selling him until next season. Liverpool have disrespected them and taken the proverbial. We don’t need to sell. Isak will have to eat humble pie very soon unless Eddie decides categorically that he can’t integrate him. Think we’ll get 2 strikers and Osula loaned out. Thankfully not long before this whole sorry saga comes to an end.
