It was heat of the moment stuff, very few players have the compsure to square it there, but it WAS on. Certainly not going to blame him for that as playing a deft pass when through on goal in a packed stadium in Paris is not exactly the first thing that comes to mind when you have 0.01 seconds to think of what to do, I don't know of a player on the planet that would consistently sqaure it in this circumstance.

But it was on, simple as!

Yep, nowt wrong with the lad having a crack from where he did, but it was definitely an option

Wasn't on like. That pic has the ball under Ramsey's feet, as well as the fact he's running away from Woltemade. He'll need another touch to set himself (by which time he's starting to stumble as he does take his next touch) and to look up for the pass to a player who's behind him. It ain't happening buddy.

Agree. Thought as much, in real time. On reflection/replay, he would've had to become prime-Beardsley and put his foot on the ball, let the defender slide past then pass or shoot.

Small sample size. But when he has played deeper in a 2 or had opportunities to drop in from the midfield 3. It’s when he’s looked at his best. I wasn’t expecting that at all.

yeah, for sure. It might not even be his ideal position, but it's definitely what we need from him. Bruno can play out of pressure but gets caught quite a bit, Ramsey looks like he can do similar but with far more agility. It's something we sorely need in the team.

I'm not sure why he hasn't played more recently. Joelinton has been playing really well but I'm sure most of us could've foreseen him getting injured like he did.

Ball is clearly in front of his feet not under them.

You said the ball was under his feet and the image proves it's not.

Doesn't have to be deeper than that really.

No hard feelings.

He first takes a touch here. Quite a good one actually, the pass was on.

Then youre off yer rocker pal

If you won't even concede that a square pass was possible after consulting the video and seeing these pretty conclusive image stills.

The fair enough, I am happy to be called a nutter.

He's a good player but I feel he needs cover for his lack of defensive work. Joelinton would be great alongside him.

He's a good player, just not quite good enough.

I really like him as a player but tactically it doesn’t look like he knows how to play in a 3 at all yet really. When he gets the ball it’s good but he went missing in and out of possession after the equaliser.

All neat & tidy, but there is really not much going on.

Always looks bright and busy, but it always comes to nothing at the end of it.

He seems to play in bursts. Don’t think he had a touch for 10 minutes. Then started getting on the ball and building play out from the back, turning people for fun like he does.

Had another spell in the second half where he did similar. Then disappeared again.

As poor as Tonali is on the ball. He is still constantly getting on it and trying to do something with getting it forward. Ramsey needs to be more aggressive in possession.

Even when he gets near the box. He’ll try the odd through ball. But it always feels like it has no conviction. Like he doesn’t believe it will actually find a black and white shirt

I actually really like watching him as a player. I just wish he could find a way to impose himself on games more.

I hate to say it. But it feels like yet another summer signing that doesn’t quite fit into the system and he has looked at his best when we’ve changed formation.

Hopefully some time here and some actual training sessions will help in that regard.
