Quality is such an over used word in football, he's neat and tidy but I don't see where we might get some attacking output from him.

Wasn't most of his success at Villa playing either wide left or behind the striker?

His ability to play on the half turn quickly breaks midfield lines. From there we need an improvement in coordination between him and the front three for him to play them in.

Obviously we don't have any details but us going back for old targets isnt surprising. Not a change Eddie would have had much say over who we were scouting when Mitchell was in charge.

The big nick one is the interesting one though isn't it?

Need to get him further up the pitch

I would like to see him play further up but LW is blocked by Gordon/Barnes

We could stop playing the tried and failed 4-3-3 and get him or someone in a more advanced midfield role.

IMO, he has looked at his best playing a bit deeper and trying to build play. It’s the bit after that where maybe he could

improve a bit and the team in general don’t help. It’s hardly like he has loads of great options when he’s played out of trouble and he’s in our half.

The Invisible Player.

This guy has football ability for sure. But he's giving Invisible Man Jermaine Jenas energy. Zero impact game after game. I'll take the fact he can play some but the invisible act at 24 is one difficult to stop.

Its not even zero impact anymore, its Vurnon Anita/Jack Colback levels in the last two games, midfield gets destroyed with him in it.

He looks a good player to me.

Needs to impose himself a bit more, but very good technique and generally moves the ball well under pressure.

If he continues to develop, can see him becoming a big player for us.

Midfield was getting destroyed with Bruno. Tonali and joelinton in it too.

He looks like he's threatening to be a good player but forgets his lines once he's about to deliver the finale.

Neat and tidy is nice and all but this team needs some goal threat. Outside of Barnes we don’t have any match winners or good finishers.

Bruno I’m not including because he’s doing things he needs to do because others aren’t.

Again, he was the summer signing I was most excited about, couldn't wait to see what Howe would do with his development.

As it is, he's in danger of becoming Jacob 'Neat and Tidy' Ramsey. For £45m he just hasn't delivered anywhere near enough as yet.

He's the one I'm still hopeful has the most upside potential from last summer but he needs to start imposing himself on games and quickly.

We needed a talisman really, I don’t think he would come up here but Eze I don’t thinking has started a league game since October.
