Im not going to sit here and pretend I know his future, but he was totally isolated at top, with no help and no service. I remember Isak having several games like that in our shirt.

Isak is a complete striker, 5 minutes after he joined he terrorized Liverpool at Anfield and without him we just don't look the same.

I really believe that our current squad + Isak could go all the way so it is really frustrating.

Anyway, I have a feeling Wissa will be great for us while Woltermade another average addition.

For the sake of your future selves and the horror you’ll face at revisiting some of these posts, please just hold off on commenting until he’s played at least half a season for us

Pretty sure those who are now writing him off as a failure, won’t be anywhere near this thread when he plays and does well for us.

"another average addition" [emoji38]

Based on your in depth expertise scouting over two Germany games I take it [emoji38]

Out of interest, who are the other "average additions" we are adding Woltemade to? Can't wait to find out.

Is it not better to judge him on his league performances in Germany over the two international qualifiers?!

Apparently we're run by a bunch of complete idiots that just closed their eyes and picked him out at random from a list.

And so they'll no doubt be horrified to learn after these two games for Germany that they've paid a club record amount for someone that's apparently no better than Osula and that apparently isn't a striker at all.

He also had poor games for us where he was totally isolated, wich was my point. The guy has not kicked a ball for us yet, crazy writing him off.

Scored 2 in 3, then was hurt for 11 matches. Missed November to January. Scored a header on his return in mid-Jan. Didn't score again until mid March where he scored 6 in 7 matches (2 braces) from mid-March to end of April. Didn't score again in his last 7 matches in that debut season. Did get 2 assists in that late run-in.

22 appearances, 10 goals and 2 assists in the league.

He got better in the following 2 seasons to where he is today. History should show us we need to chill and let Eddie do his thing.

When he played for the u21s he looked a beast just goes to show what the right system can get out of him.

this senior Germany team look terrible and struggle to get him involved in the game, it looks like he's been told to not budge from the width of the 18 yard box, which isn't his game as he likes to wander and create.

The system Germany played last night need a physical monster as the 9 for the striker to look decent. Its a pace and/or power role, that's just not Woltemade game. Trust me when I say, in our 4-3-3 or in a 4-2-3-1 this guy will look class within a few weeks for us.

Ours requires some physical graft like in the 433. No ten. Wingers wide as owt often. It’s a tough shift. Ton of pressing.
