Tinhat, I think the one implementation of Woltemade would be with Wissa in the guise of Quinn/Philips at Sunderland.

Skillset very different from Quinn granted, but the idea of a tall playmaker who can lay it off and a finisher.

4-4-effing-2 mayhaps?

In an international break I don't think it's surprising that people are getting worked up over our record signing who we haven't yet seen play and who doesn't have a long track record.

I think some of you just enjoy getting worked up and worrying [emoji38]

A perpetual state of anxiety and bed wetting.

In Eddie we trust (unless there's a way we can wet the bed about a player until they prove themselves and we trust Eddie again) doesn't quite have the same ring to it but seems to have become the mantra.

I think its much more likely that you see a gradual physical transformation in him in the next 12 months where he becomes more aware of how to make best use of his physicality.

Weve seen players under Howe transform, Joelinton being the obvious one but subtly id argue Murphy, Hall, Gordon and Burn have become more physically capable than before. Players on the fringes look fitter too, Krafth being one, Miley too.

In the meantime, im sure our manager will work out that Woltemade isnt some beanpole to hit long balls to.

Until I've seen how we would use him as a lone striker I have no idea what he'll bring to us. I saw him for Germany and he looked lost, but I couldn't work out if that was them or him. Looks like he would be much more suited to playing off Wissa, but not sure how we would accomodate that in our usual formation where we play with one striker.

It might be we use Wissa a lot more early on while we are bringing Woltemade up to speed on how to play the lone striker role in our system.

I'm running out of bookmarks to go back to at the end of the season, there's knee jerks and then there's NO-jerks and there's a few of them on here, my days

This is the kind of petty you can only admire. Looking forward to the receipts.

Plus he'll be match fit through playing internationals.

He only played an hour the other day. Even if he plays the full 90 today I doubt he's match fit/fully up to speed

When’s he likely to get back to Newcastle? Thursday? (No idea what the time difference is)

They're in the same time zone as us, so in terms of jet lag, there shouldn't be any really, it's just it's a 12 hour flight from DR Congo to Newcastle.

He's scored again today, there's just no stopping him.

Wonder if we'll go Woltemessi vs Wolves with Wissa sub to keep Wissa fresh and cool for starting vs Barca.

Not the worst shout as it keeps Wissa in hand in case we need that goal against Wolves.

Still expect Woltemade to start. He’s essentially going to have today, tomorrow and some of Thursday more over Wissa to get used to team mates / game plan ahead of Saturday. Wissa to then play final 30, with a view that Wissa starts against Barcelona as runs behind is more needed.

I would not be surprised to see Botman + Fab at CB and Hall + Trippier at fullback as well. Midfield will be interesting with Bruno coming back Thursday? and Tonali likely training tomorrow? Barnes, Murphy and Wolte up front?

I think it'll be Wissa Left, Woltemade central.

Well. That's what I'd like to see but I doubt either will start given neither has trained with the first team yet.
