Hopefully he hits the ground running and tells Philip Lahm to get fucked. Just read his article today in the guardian comparing the Wirtz and Woltemade signings. Wirtz is a guaranteed success and Woltemade is a gamble made by a club that doesn’t know what it’s doing.

On that Euro Leagues pod on BBC.  The two journos for the Bundesliga said Woltemade was an overpay, which we already knew.  But both agreed Wirtz was also massively overpriced and is far from a guaranteed success.

I would've liked him to be slowly integrated as I do feel the pace and the intensity is going to be a shock for him but alas this is Newcastle. Give it a few weeks and the inevitable groans will start if he misses an easy chance. I hope he gets a goal tomorrow, it'll do wonders for both our supporters and Woltemessi.

Fans need to be patient and not get on his back. I’m really hopeful about him, not sure the premier league has ever seen his like before. It’s such a shame he has to be thrown in at the deep end immediately, but it’s also a chance to become an instant hero. Even a few vague contributions to goals will do for now.

Just dont think his style is going to be suited to the premier league/ the way we play

I think his style is perfect for the way we play, arguably better suited than Isak when he first signed. He might just need a bit of time and patience to adjust from the Fraudesliga (see Wirtz).

I genuinely believe Eddie could get a tune put of anyone given sufficient time on the training ground.

Arent they just, spent ages chasing him, and then saying we overpaid and cant compete.  Their bitterness suggests a decent player...theyre not exactly known for signing duds. Guess its a bit easier when youre winning the league 9 times out of 10

SHOOT!!!!

Oh they still do that then

Will be class if he recreates one of those mazy dribbles while the crowd is begging him to shoot and lays it off to someone to tap in.

I think they can stomach being beaten to the punch by Liverpool but not little old Newcastle. The line about our Saudi Arabian ownership being new at this and making mistakes is telling, how many bad signings have we made so far Phil?

I could understand the rest of the article but that line was unbelievable. They've been here four years now and pretty much every one of our signings has been a massive success [emoji38]

Don't want to be that prick..

However I think he is going to be our real big money flop since Eddie has been here

Hopefully you're as accurate as some of your other negative bollocks. :indi:

Lahm was an amazing player but clearly another footballer with fuck all

between his ears. Wirtz has looked completely out of his depth so far and unable to cope with the physicality of the league and lack of time on the ball. Maybe he’ll adjust, I doubt he’ll ever be worth close to what they paid though. Of course a 23 year old is a gamble but Woltemade’s profile is so unique it’s almost impossible to imagine him not being a success under Eddie

People need to give him time, just had his breakout season in Germany and coming in to a much more difficult league with a lot of weight on his shoulders if Wissa ends up out for a few weeks or more.

Likely thrown right in tomorrow, be nice for him to get a goal to build up some confidence
