I'm so happy for this guy. What a start man.

Just need everyone else to catch up to him now!

Not surprised he's said that about the players looking for him here, having watched his games for the German senior team.

Lovely improvisation on the finish today. Wish we'd at least held on for a point. It deserved at least that much.

He needs to catch up to us as well.

Love the way he plays but at present he's Shola like in lack of desire to hit the required spots when we break wide.

You don't see the bit where he drops deep to link the midfield, drawing the centre halves out of position and creating space for the wingers?

Yes. I also see us working wide on breaks and he's not really there. He will, but right now hes not.

And if hes not going to be the plan isn't to play him up front and centre in our current 433.

Im not pointing this out, they know this. He's evolutionary and we are playing him as we need to right now

Imagine how fucked we'd be if he wasn't so clinical with his shooting so far.

Imagine if he got into better positions.

It was said when he signed hes not a 9 nor a 10. We set up presently requiring a 9. Its gonna take for everything to change.

Wolt and Thiaw so far the only good business we’ve done this summer.

The trend of our best players being the ones signed from abroad continues.

Not saying this to have a pop at the other signings, but I wish we’d completely fuck off “Premier League experience” tbh.

agrred. It's going to take the players around him to also get used to him dropping back and leaving more space for them to run into. I'm looking forward to see more of him and Ramsey together.

The problem we have is the gap between the flat 3 in midfield and the CF and there is a lack of connection between the wide men and midfield.

I said last season, we need to change the midfield to a 2 and 1 (double pivot) - fill that 10 gap and stop those balls played through our midfield

Deffo and thats where Elanga comes in who at Forest loved to exploit between Full back and Centre half.

I do think there's definitely room for improvement on that end but I also think for much of his career here (aside from Bruno and Tonali) what's behind him really haven't performed to a good enough standard.

Maybe it would be easier for them if he had more conventional movement but even so I don't think it really justifies the standard they've put out.

I'm also pretty sure if you asked Howe privately he would say they haven't been good enough either.

There definitely is room for improvement and he was poor today (Elanga) but we are so disjointed going forward no one looks good. (And I'll whisper it, Woltemades goal was good but it was an Ok game, fluffed a free header and looks to lay off  quick all the time, needs to hold up 30yds out now and again and show positively more........ but we're all just getting used to each other with little training pitch time to do it)

I will say the one thing I saw in highlight clips that I haven't seen a lot yet is dribbling at players.

I'm hoping he gets a little more greedy regarding that in time.

It is in these moments where Woltemade will chase back and try to make that tackle or drop into this space to make something happen. A couple of moments in the game today where he filled the gap and either made a run or short pass, but then he isn't breaking into the box if we recycle possession out wide. You'd like to think with our wingers improving and our midfield improving he should get there.

He was there most of the time when should have had better service.

The flaw with the system is that it doesn’t allow Woltemade to drop and potentially feed in either Gordon or Elanga - plus being so limited currently in the 2 full back positions offensively is really hurting us
