At one point we'd lost 38 times across two season's worth of games, all the whole sucking Ashley off and whinging about fan expectations. It's a miracle he escapes the Bruce levels of criticism for most fans.

In fairness the whole Sack Pardew campaign at the time was pretty full on. Vans being hired to drive around SJP with Sack Pardew on them as well.

The 11/12 season is his shield. At least he achieved something, although dedicating victories to Ashley was vomit inducing.

It was nationwide and relentless. Walked into a pub netty whilst working in Norwich and there were Sack Pardew stickers on the wall.

Not that much of a shield really,  when you've a 37% win rate, 1.34 points per game, and averaged 1.28 goals scored and 1.54 goals conceded, over 155 league games. Well, I guess we'll always have the cup form to fondly remember him by ... .

Our greatest collective performance as fans of the club

So the Pardew stuff is very simple, it doesnt really matter how shit of a manager you were, if when you leave you are prepared to talk positive about the club and the area.

The reason why Bruce and Souness are so despised is because they managed to gaslight the nation into thinking that we were the problem.

One thing Pardew was good at, its playing the media and fans in a much more savvy way than bacon chops.

Whilst I’m loathe to come on here and actually defend him, he did have a manager of the season award whilst here. And whether you think that was gained with a huge amount of fortune on our side or not, he still achieved it.

Bruce’s best achievement whilst here was managing not to be McClaren levels of shit.

The off the field stuff, I’m not sure you could really say one was particularly worse than the other.

It's about time for me to repeat that we got Bruce because we had Pardew and largely accepted him.

Fully justified as well. His snake oil charm efforts were even more offensive than Bruce's oafery for me.
