Bayer Leverkusen vs. Newcastle United: 10/12/25 @ 20:00 (TNT Sport)

Really looking forward to this one, feels like we’ve pretty much got all our players back (sans Pope).  Yes, we looked poor second half vs Burnley but it was a rotated side - a result here would be an excellent one and would be a nice set up for what looks like a big seven days for the club

It would be more rotational to rotate for the Sundlund game but I don't think anyone wants that

Think there's enough of a gap between the games for us to play our strongest sides for both with the mackems being on Sunday. Especially with us making 6 changes against Burnley.

I think JL would do well against BL. He’ll appreciate having a bit more time on the ball.

As long as he’s fit, his abrasive nature would be extremely useful in the derby too. Give him the first 60 mins or the last 30.

I'm in Toronto, but if you're interviewing potential stalkers, I'll be over in the New Year visiting family.

I’d go Miley, Bruno, Tonali tomorrow. Then Joelinton, Bruno, Tonali at the weekend.

The good thing is, with Miley and Willock performing pretty well, we do have the option to rotate in midfield now if we feel a rest would benefit a player. I think Bruno is the only one who seems to be the vital cog, but at a push we could even rest him tomorrow and get a result. We have to start trusting our squad.

play strongest defence and midfield in Leverkusen and against Sunderland.

Not sure what our strongest attack is? - both Gordon and Harvey looks good atm, but both should only operate on the left.

I would probably start Harvey and Murphy in Leverkusen with Wolte on top!

Let‘s hope for another Andrich brainfart like he had against PSG. I really can‘t stand his thuggish behaviour.

Will be interesting to see whether Hjulmand plays Grimaldo as 10 or LB, he is by far their most constant player this season, many of the others are hit and miss.

I think we go with a similar set up to the last match day with Willock coming in and Gordon playing centrally. I’d start Elanga instead of Murphy as he deserves to keep his place from the weekend to build some sort of form

Here’s a thought start both ‘Gordy’ and Harvey on the left. That will perplex the feckers!
Reminds me of an anecdote in that podcast with Scholes, Butt and Given. Sir Bobby put Woodgate man to man on van Nistelrooy in a home game against Manure; basically instructed him to follow him wherever he went.
Ferguson twigged this and told RvN to pull out wide, left corner flag etc when they were attacking. We got beat 6-2, Scholes scored a hat trick and it was the most goals Given ever conceded. Punchline? Apparently in a depressed NUFC dressing room, Bobby quipped ‘I told you though, van Nistelrooy barely had a kick.’

                  Ruddy

Krafth Schar Burn A. Murphy

Gordon Bruno Tonali Joelinton

              Neave Osula

A good mix of experience, rotation and bedding in some youngsters in a non peado way.
