Looks so much better for Italy, even his dead ball play seems much more threatening. He’s a top player with complimentary players around him.

Did you watch the play offs? He only beat the first man at corners as he put it straight into the side netting.

I'm not sure he does look better for them tbh.

There's a reason they have been struggling to get into tournaments of late. They seem to struggle with using the ball similar to what we do, and he certainly doesn't help improve things.

Antonio Cassano recently called him out and said he lacked quality and should be doing athletics, which was absolutely brutal.

Cassano talks shit about every Italian star player. Watch them win the Euro’s again in 2 years.

Also contributed to them being able to get to the playoffs. He was world class last year, shame he’s not at the same level, but there’s other players having worse seasons than him.

Stating the obvious but Something is 100% not right... from day dot of this season we haven't been able to get into a rhythm, there is no cohesion there is no togetherness there's no  spirt which really has been so evident since January 2022... like the drop off from last season really should be scrutinised, what a lot of people forget is if we won our last 2 games of last season we would've finished 2nd... this  summer really should of been one of optimism, positivity and excitement but instead  it was the opposite... between the whole isak ordeal  and the fact every major target publicly turned us down it was embarrassing...

This season has been so strange, for me it feels so much like a pre take over season  under rafa or Bruce :anguish: the only thing  is every single season since we came up in 2017 we seem to have a purple patch where we win a handful of games or go unbeaten, 2018 and 2019 under rafa we had strong finishes, I remember thinking  particularly near the end of 2019 with that front 3 of miggy, ayoze and rondon  that we could kick on if rafa  stayed (we all know how that ended) even in 2021  we had that strong end to the season where wilock went on that brilliant goal scoring run... but this season we just can't get a rub of games going  where we win 3 or 4 on the spin, and the thing which is really frustrating is 3 or 4 wins and wed be in the mix for Europe.....

I do think the buck begins at board room level, the way the isak situation was handled and the way the  recruitment was handled was very poor....

But the performances on the pitch have been the most concerning thing and there's only one person who can take responsibility for that unfortunately.... after the game against the Mackems, and the disaster class that was, the fact wee had 2 weeks  to get back to the drawing board and give the fans a reaction and a real opportunity to make a late push for a European spot and it turned out to be the complete opposite the players looked lethargic, completely inept of any ideas and now that was the final nail in the coffin in what has been a complete damp squid of a season.... 25 pts isn't now  dropped from winning positions ?.. I love howe, genuinely do he's in the same bracket as Keegan and Robson for me, but for the 1st time since he took over theres serious question marks over his name, signings this season have been dreadful and you can count on the one hand the good performances weve had.

That's me as well. I don't think Tonali is top level tecnically tbh, but he's still a good player who gets about the pitch and puts a good shift in. I just don't think we'll get value for him if we sell, and we might end up spunking £50m on another pile of shit like we did in the summer.

If that is true then it doesn't really matter as we'll be mid table or worse if we don't have the right structures in place.

We had a bad summer but different people should be running this one. Honestly I could sell tonali, livermento and Gordon on these performances without feeling that sorry

Just watched the match now.

i pains me, but there is something seriously wrong.

Blame the transfer window or Europe if you want, but the end of last season and this season we have not been looking very good.

This is more a coaching issue than anything else if you ask me.

If I where Howe I would add some new coaches. New input and change things up a bit. If not I am not sure this will work out.

Canna understand Eddie, when 3 first team CP players(Wharton, Sarr and  Matteta) came on he did nowt. There again he always plays catch up, wait until opposition score or lead then react. Having a like for like, Flash off for Barnes wasn't going to cut it. Should have had fresh legs on at the usual 65 minutes!

It was an average performance but overall pretty comfortable, but the pessimist in me thought we needed more than one goal lead before they brought their proper players on.

That said, the penalty was incredibly soft and the kind of thing that happens multiple times at every set piece. So we should really have got out with 1-1 which wouldn't have been a disaster.

Even 1-1 would have been harsh on Palace. They hit the bar and Ramsdale made at least two excellent saves. I can't remember a shot on target apart from Osula.

Palace made the triple change and instantly looked a real threat. We reacted by swapping Gordon for Barnes, like for like with no other tweaks and got worse.

I think the l players have lost faith in the project.

Disagree but will say that 'some' of the players have lost interest and these will be the ones that are looking for a move, in the summer.

Exactly how you imagined it. Same as the last game

So your bar is “fine as long as not a disaster”?

This.

It's not even hindsight either. Saw those 3, Palace, changes and thought "haway Eddie, make a response"

I'm all Howe but he's got issues 😂

Osula should have buried that one on one though

Would have been a different result if so

He almost did tbf, it was a decent save in the end.

Absolutely. Of the 45 times since the beginning of 22/23 that we've gone two goals to the good, our record is W43 D2 L0.

We needed to put the game to bed at 0-1, but seem incapable of doing it.

Yeah, a couple of big chances in particular. One where Gordon should’ve put Osula in and one where Osula missed the 1v1 after the error. Also on other ball across the 6 yard box that nobody got near.

If we’d gone 2-0 they might have just kept their players for the European game.

Even so it should’ve finished 1-1.
