Burn is undroppable man 😂

I'd rather just drop Botman than do this.

Ah well hopefully won't see it next season.

Yes, it is fucking mental to think Hall should be playing out of position to be the RB replacement.

Just stick Hall at LB and buy a new RB in the summer. Simple. Don’t tell me you really think next season we should be going like this. Please

You absolutely love twisting words like.

I'm saying Howe is playing Hall at RB to see if he's a viable option there in the future. Much like how Tino is an option at LB despite it being his unfavoured side.

I don't believe he's playing Hall at RB because he sees him as the answer there long-term. Or because he's trying desperately to accommodate Dan Burn no matter what.

We could do without having to sign a million full-backs in the summer so let's use this dead rubber to see if the one we've got has - heaven forbid - a bit of versatility.

Anything to bitch and moan.

Anyone else unable to see our game on the Sky Sports app?

Doesn't usually become available right up until KO as there'll be no pundits or pre-match analysis

Really don't think Howe is testing anything, I think he wants to play Burn which means either playing Hall out of position or dropping him entirely.

Really don't think it's that deep.

It'll be interesting to see if the comms are actually in the stadium. Usually on EFL matches buried on the red button you can clearly tell they are in an external studio and it just feels a bit off.

Mind, I’d much rather set the team up based on some forum fuckwits view than trust Eddie Howe.

Why wouldn't he just play Trippier if that was the case?

Never know unless you give them a try, you know, in a dead rubber 2nd leg match or something?

But lets be honest, he didn't really give Anderson that much of a chance when he had him, other than playing him on the wing where he wasn't as effective.

And Miley break through run in the side only happened because of injuries.

Yeah I wish he’d drop that aging flop up front and give that mad bag of cats Osula a shot.

Man ... this team selection.

Was quite looking forward to seeing more of Barnes on the right, and could have easily had Murphy at right back instead to see how that looks too, and if that is viable, if he didn't want to play Trippier for whatever reason.

This Hall at right back thing is horrific IMO. And there's absolutely no need to still be playing Murphy at right wing at this stage of the season for goodness sake. We've seen enough of that at this point.

No need to say anything about Dan Burn at left back. Crazy this is still being done even with the season essentially over. Imagine if he gets injured and jeopardises his World Cup place.

Weird.

The whole he wants to play Burn no matter what thing seems far deeper tbh.

I don't think he does tbf, in fact there is many examples of him not.

I just think he does today.

Wanting to play Burn makes complete sense to me given hes our best defender and biggest leader in the back 4.

Playing Hall RB doesnt make much sense.

you said “trying an in-house replacement” yourself man…..it’s you who twisted your own word. If you just say it’s an option / cover then fine. But your own word is in-house RB replacement. Now that’s fucking mental.

He's said before these last few games are with an eye on next year is my answer to that.

Everything he does is with an eye to that and seeing as Trippier isn't going to be here he isn't included.

I'm not wildly upset about this or anything, I just think he likes Burn a lot in the current circumstance (team still probably low on confidence etc ) and there isn't a lot more to it than that.

A replacement for the single member of the squad (Tino) who is apparently comfortable at playing on both sides of the pitch; not necessarily a replacement for first choice RB. Sorry, thought that was pretty obvious given it preceded the statement about a replacement.
