I would like to think it would be a discussion with the council about what benefits the city. Rather than a battle.

And I'd like a solid gold toilet. The battle won't be with the council, it'll be the loud mouths who would rather see themselves in the paper than actually benefiting anyone

Just for the record.

I have kept going on about how the East stand is approaching the end of it’s life in relation to the construction methods and material used to create it, and other stadiums in the country having the same issue.

Well what’s happening with the Gateshead viaduct is exactly what will happen to the East stand in future. Interesting to note that they were both created at about the same time, with the same materials, and likely the same method.

Reckon the viaduct’s had a canny bit more wear and tear like.

It doesn’t really matter. It’s reached the stage where the materials used start to rot.

Even Newcastle council must be rather nervous about their section of central motorway.

I’m sure the amount of stress those materials get put under on a daily basis has some effect.

No doubt....that'll be the next one to shut soon making car travel around Gateshead and Newcastle virtually impossible. Then again that has always been their intention given the Askew road farce...know Gateshead council are gutted they may have to re-open the bus lane to cars as they continue to make thousands a day off it due to the poor signage, and once in it there's no way out

ask a likely stupid question, does seat 262 exist in LWC, selected two together but it goes 261 to 263.

Seats are missing in some rows because of the curve of the stand and how to arrange the seats.  I noticed it when I was in there for the West Ham game.

So, yeah.  They'll be together.

Good luck sitting either side of 262 😅

Slightly off topic but quite an interesting video on the craziness of the central motorway.

Not Newcastle but a lot of the same issues apply and it does make you think that a new Stadium is a must really if we are serious about competing for titles/trophies or we are just going to be left further behind

Yeah.

I’ve said it many times on here, but we are coming into a period of megastadiums that cost multi-billions. The NFL is in the process of replacing a lot of their stadiums. Spurs have kickstarted it happening in football.

It also makes me question why Liverpool have opted for doing stand by stand replacements which aren’t really going to put Anfield in the elite list of stadiums. I think in 10 years time, they might regret that.
