Seems the biggest noises about staying put are coming from ST holders that are very happy with their lot.

Seeing as the lack of atmosphere in the ground is down to ST holders, in the main, staying put is the only noise they make.

Another way of looking at it would be that the people with season tickets currently are those that are likely to be in this new stadium if everything goes to shit and lots of others stop bothering/boycott again. And you can look at Spurs to see what a grim prospect that is

Be interested to see comparisons for stuff like concerts for a renewed St James vs a newly built stadium too, would imagine a state of the art stadium would have more chance of getting big stadium gigs Vs the SoL which would be good for the city too.

Spurs' stadium move has done wonders for them competitively that's for sure. I don't know how we'll ever catch up to them whilst anchored in our ramshackle shit-tip of a stadium.

There’s no denying it, a new stadium and the ability to put on concerts and events irrespective of the match day revenue would be huge.

Id rather a Dortmund-esque stadium rather than Munich’s.

Let’s just have two stadiums. One with an atmosphere and one without. One with the louds and one with the quiets.

As I've said before, if we've finished 4th, 7th, and then maybe top 6 this year we've every right to sign deals of the magnitude the other 6 have and just tell them to eat shit.

If we're averagint a top 6 position, we have a right to do top 6 deals even if they're related party deals.

The PL will probably argue we don't have the global fan base and brand to justify it.

Bibs would be fucking pissed if we ended up playing a few games at Murrayfield. We would have to alternate with Hearts because Murrayfield is across the road from Tynecastle. So then if you’re in Edinburgh, and Newcastle are in town, or you could go and see Hibs, where the fuck are you going?

Or we  can't sign deals with companies with the letter A In its name.

It’s kept them in touch with much bigger clubs is the way you have to look at it. They’d been struggling badly to afford modern day players with a 35k stadium without ridiculous ticket prices. Which I’d suggest although we know football isn’t a perfect science wouldn’t have allowed them to reach Europe regularly and occasional Top 4 recently now the rules are in place. With them probably wanting those rules more than anyone.

Thats also with an owner and chairman both interested in money ahead of sporting glory.

Levy took a £3m bonus ours were 2nd bottom of the table taking almost nothing.

Their business model and our owners desire would be a match made in heaven theoretically. As we’d want to spend the maximum allowed to become No.1 whereas Spurs have the lowest players wage to turnover at 42%. Us being perilously high to to the UEFA limit of 70% at around 63%.

Look at their ability to move in the market last few days of the window to address relatively short term issues (injuries) compared to ours.

We are so lucky to have Howe in our predicament.

Unless those figures have improved massively, we essentially remain much closer in competition with the likes of Wolves rather than Arsenal. We're miles off.

We're three years into a long term project, it's to be expected.

Realistically the only way to close that gap in the short term, is if our meg billionaire owners put their money into the squad. The rest of the PL know it, and that's why they've gone to such lengths to stop it happening.
