Few negative Nannie’s in here and without going all Ando7 keep the faith.

Training ground news on way shortly and lots going on behind the scenes with new stadium.

It’ll be worth the wait and transformative.

Too right - it wouldn’t be at all like the govt of Saudi Arabia to hint that they’re going to build super duper megaprojects and then shrink back when it comes to actually doing it.

Always amuses me when people have zero information and go doom and gloom. If you’re gonna make it up in your head why be so miserable?

90,000 seater, best acoustic venue on earth, 20,000 standing section with the current site developed into stunning public gardens for fans to wind their way through towards the ground. That’s what I heard from some gadgie.

Hope we don't have Eddie playing Dan Burn at LB in that. Let him play CB.

Training ground will reassure people when that comes and I think we’ll be in new stadium by 2031 at very latest. Roughly 3 years for build once everything like planning sorted by 2028, again at very latest.

The new Mayoral Development Zone set up is aimed at helping expedite planning permission for big projects like this, so timeline is thought to be realistic.

Probably doesn’t help with your cynicism of the Saudis but would take a big change of thinking for this not to happen now.

Of course it will have been, it doesn't mean that's what we're going with though. I'd be fucking amazed if there'd been no dialogue with them on up to now [emoji38]

If there’s a massive global financial crash on the way, that might also explain the wait and see approach, disappointing as that is.

Never mind the massive global financial crash it’s the huge alien invasion from outer space that’ll really make PIF wait and see, disappointing as that is

I completely respect your good self WM, and I know you know what you’re talking about - but KSA has a long history of talking bollocks on projects of this nature, and they look very much like absentee landlords at this point.   For me it’s a bit like Pascal’s wager - I don’t reckon they will do owt, but fuck it mebbes they will, so I might be pleasantly surprised

I remember queuing up outside Thomson house for the chronicle giveaway for Euro 96 tickets, was waiting ages and got as far as ristorante roma before they all went, was way more than an NUFC ticket at the time for under 16s and my dad was probably working so a non starter.

Bulgaria - Romania was 19k, hardly any away travellers back then from those countries.  West Road alone could probably add more romanians on the gate now!

I was there as well. Me and my mate, 15 years old in the queue with bigg market crowds going by.. Group of older lads had a football, few beers and looked after us. Even went to McDonald's for breakfast and got us food.

That evening into morning was an absolute core memory for me, and eclipsed the match we went to.

I think I only went early in the morning hence missing out!

They don’t have a permanent representative on the board and have been in radio silence for about three years at this point.

They delivered our most successful season in about 70 years, last season. They’ve recently appointed a new CEO and Sporting Director. Absentee is just silly. What do you want them to say, like? What difference would it make? Their actions suggest they’re still very committed to making NUFC a success, which they have done, unequivocally, since they took charge.

You’ll continue to put the boot in when you can because you don’t like them, that’s fine. But you should expect to be pulled up on it.

They do though. Solis is a board member and part of PIF. Our chairman is the head of PIF and technically a board member.

They are doing a talk in with fan at the Stack which is also shown online next week, and did one last year.

I agree that things like the lack of communication or updates on certain matters is frustrating, but they aren’t absent owners.

Was at Bromley’s ground yesterday and their concourse genuinely embarrassed ours [emoji38]

Haven't been for a couple of years, they had just finished the stand at one end that has the rooms and football centre in it etc.

I know they were doing work on the non-main stand that used to be all standing, does it look good now?

Use to enjoy my Bromley trips, wish Gateshead had a similar setup.

Not finished but 75% done and spot on. The concourse area for the fans was lovely in its layout. East Stand not finished but operational which is where I stood.

Agree wished Gateshead had something similar. Maybe something for them and NUFC ladies team.

Neither Solis nor YAR are permanent board members - they’re part-timers.  So no; PIF do not have permanent board representation.

Not attacking you but you've made a direct statement saying they are part timers. YAR probably is given the scope of what this guy is covering so I grant that. What's the scoop on Solis?

He’s PIF’s Head of Europe Investments - we’re just a tiny part of his overall portfolio.  You’d think PIF would have the money to pay for at least one full time rep to work for the club.

PIF if you’re reading I’ll move to England and do this job.
