Curbs is dying to lose control of that locker room.

Does take a genius to reunite two players who had the most obvious on-pitch punch up in recent times.

I'm tempted to sign up on KUMB and let them know what they're really getting

Mate, let's get our money first then you can do whatever you want with them over there

I think if he does go, we'll get Gudjohnsen, As the cockney twats seem to think they've been in talks with Guddy for over 2 months!

Wouldn't suprise me if this was a suprise signing by us!

I wish that is the case...That would be awesome

So simple pressure from Mort (as i pointed out, vastly more experienced in business deals than Magnusson) and nerve-holding in the press from Allardyce has sent a strong negotiating message to other prem clubs and got us £7m instead of £6m?

I have to say i didnt see it coming.......

He should be replaced by someone with pace.

Dyer really does not need replaced imo. Its not as if he had a proper position anyway. We've got enough attacking options now, and if we were to bring in another attacking player it should be a top quality one, not one just for the sake of replacing Dyer.

im guessing im the only one that thinks Dyer could flourish under big sam..

seems 2 me that the dyer-newcastle connection is very similar to the citeh-barton connection, in that the team that had him wanted him out cos he's bastard and the team that were buying wanted him cos of their actual abilities..

that said tho.. i hope we use the money 2 buy a creative, pacey player whic dyer, on his day, was.

I still think Dyer is a very useful player and on his day he is unplayable...I believe this season he will over his injuries and will play more games than ever he did before in a season...

What with someone else who will sit in the treatment room.  Baba has been in training for 2 seasons to replace Dyer in there.

There's really not much mileage left in this issue for the sad fucks who are desperate to diss their own club

by dishing the dirt on them to London journos who hate Newcastle United.

Northern Monkey has said in post 777 what is in my mind, it makes sense.

Coupled with the fact that Allardyce himself has complained about backing. Unless you know more than he does about it.

Whether you like it or not, no manager complained about the last board like this. I want to believe they will back the manager as much as the last board, but just because I want to believe it doesn't mean I'm stupid enough to pretend that they are just yet.

What I say stands. If Shepherd and Hall had did this, they would be getting absolutely crucified by you lot, and whats more you know it.

BTW, the ex board had earned the benefit of the doubt in my eyes, because they had backed their managers and shown they had ambition, despite mistakes which of course nobody makes except us. If you underestimate the value of backing your managers, its your problem, people like me have tried to tell you for long enough.

Allardyce on the backing he's had.

“We’ve invested well, I’ve spent more than I’ve ever spent this summer and I’m grateful for that,” explained a manager who has so far signed seven players. “I’m fortunate to have that, I’ve been able to invest more on transfer fees and more on wages and I’ve got bigger and better players. When you do that you have more quality, you can play better football. When you don’t, it’s about upsetting bigger and better teams, it’s about embarrassing them and it’s something you don’t get credit for. You’re doing it with lesser players and that makes you better than them. But it also means people start saying you’re something you’re not.”

how come chaps like you riducule the Chronicle, then take bits that suit you

Never mind. I expect you will ignore this mind :

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premiership/newcastle/article2240973.ece

Whether the new owner will let me spend as much as Freddy would have is something we’ll find out come the end of August [when the transfer window closes] but there’s a few players I’ve targeted, either for August or when the window reopens in January, and so far, so good.”

and THAT, is all I have said. No more, no less. Quite amazing how you and others are jumping around just because a post isn't either totally anti-Shepherd, or pro-Ashley. But I expected that from the likes of you too.

You ridicule the Times, then take the bits that suit you though. Their claims about the Owen clause, which turned out to be correct, is one example that springs to mind. Also, that Chronicle article quoted above has crediblity because it contains direct quotes rather than just supposition. I suspect you realise this though.

just so long as its either anti Shepherd/Hall or pro-Ashley eh Alex  mackems.gif

I don't ridicule the Times BTW, just certain pompous journos when they publish "opinions", especially something about Newcastle because it is anti-Newcastle , most of who are the same people who laughingly said that Keegan "spent a load of money and failed because he won nothing"

For the record, I have taken on board both quotes. See my post earlier where I state "Just because I want to believe Ashley will back the board more than the Halls and Shepherd doesn't mean I'm stupid enough to pretend they have just yet". Because, basically, whatever you want to believe, they haven't. Not yet. And you don't know if they will or not any more than I do. Yet.

Perhaps you can explain how arranging for an interview for a representative of the Hitzfeld campaign to respond to a diss from our former chairman -- an interview which never even happened, and wasn't going to be done by me if it had done -- meets this ridiculous description that your trot out dementedly whenever I make a point to which you have no answer.

And then again, perhaps you can't.

Who really gives a toss whether anything is "anti-Shepherd"?

He's history, and 99 percent of supporters are glad to be rid of him.

This whole Shepherd/Ashley stuff is dull. The people writing it don't listen to each other and nobody else gives a toss.

Anyone who has an iota of sense can see Freddie had taken us as far as he could. It's time for the club and everyone else to move on.

Think I just wasted 60 seconds of my life typing that.

Any WH forums to check and see what their thoughts are about this deal ?

Knee's Up Mother Brown mate.  http://www.kumb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=92081&start=520

some comments...

"If this is true then Dyer is far from sh*t.

I've got a feeling none of you will ever be happy no matter who we sign in this week and a bit.

Dyer is a England international who can play on both wings, in the middle and just off the striker. He has pace to burn and is good at running at defenders.

How can you he's sh*t?

As for Elano how many times have you seen him play other than Saturday?"

Always amused when other fans list the different positions Dyer can play when he only wants to play in centre midfield and if put on the wing will end up playing everywhere else but where he is supposed to be.

Guess he may well behave himself to begin with to prove a point and will probably play really well but can't help but think that together with Bellamy, they will prove difficult for Curbishley to manage.  Also find it ironic that after moaning about the Bentley Boys last season, that Curbs has decided that Dyer is the answer to his problems.
