toon25
Trial starts today, the maximum Terry can get is a £2,500 ffs. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-18760180 Fucking hell. And how much is the trial likely to cost the taxpayer? In cases like this the accused at least ought to be made liable for court costs if found guilty. Dave
Ferdinand has admitted in court that he heard nowt racist during the game, agreed it was just banter with Terry after the game and only when did it kick off online did he even become aware of any alleged racist element to it all. Guest BooBoo
Hmm, even if Ferdinand didn't hear it, if someone else did, the offence can still be proved. It's a huge bonus though to Terry's defence.Difficult to prove someone was caused alarm, distress or harassment when the victim admits it was "banter". He'll get off with this. Guest BooBoo
To be honest when Anton Ferdinand is the Prosecution's star witness then you're in trouble. Terry instructed a QC who will no doubt have totally demolished Ferdinand.

Raconteur
Eh? That's like the prostitute who only realised she'd been raped when the cheque bounced. Not the best analogy - without wanting to get too sidetracked, if the cheque does bounce then it is rape... Of course, that's putting aside the lunacy of a prostitute accepting a cheque, taking your analogy too literally and a whole host of other issues that I'm not going to pissfart around with!!! Guest Eric
With regards to Anton Ferdinand not hearing any racist abuse on the pitch, does it not strengthen the case as then how on Earth did John Terry only say it in a sarcastic retort to Ferdinand as is claimed, when it was never said in the first place? He's admitted using the term, it's clear as day on video, surely the only argument is how it was used?
jdckelly
suppose its all dependent on what was in the unseen video footage
