Confidence is one thing, but arrogance is an unnatractive trait no matter what the colour of your skin.  I'm sure there are some who are down on him because of his race, but i think the majority see a player who thinks he is bigger than the team and base their judgement of him on that.

True but your confidence will be judged differently depending on who you are.

I assume something has been written about him?

The English press are terrible for the dog whistle stuff (see Sterling for a blatant example), but Bellingham does come off as a bit of a whopper. You only have to look at his behaviour towards referees.

I agree that the Sterling stuff was appalling - there seemed to be a genuine vendetta against him which i can only think was because of the colour of his skin, but the press and fans were all wanking themselves silly over Bellingham previously - the issue is that his form for England has taken a bit of a dive and his attitude appears to have got worse alongside it.  This is not a hill I want to die on as I do think there is a lot of truth ion what Ian Wright is saying - I'm just not sure Bellingham is the best example of this particular prejudice.

Real Madrid is full of arrogance and always has been, was always going to rub off on Bellingham.

I think he's an outstanding player and one of the first names on the England team sheet, but a questionable attitude at times is a more than fair assessment.

Talking about Craig Hope, isn’t he?

I remember it with Sterling.  It was blatantly obvious he was getting unfair criticism from the media and it definitely seemed to be due to the colour of his skin.

Can't say I've read much about Bellingham or Hope's article(s).  But I don't get that vibe with people I talk to when it comes to Bellingham.  This is only my opinion on this and obviously I can't speak from lived experiences like Wrighty.  But my criticisms of him are mainly because he comes across as a bellend, he appears to have a huffy shit attitude, he plays like he wants the game to be all about him and I also think England are a better side all round without him in it.  I'm not doubting his ability, I just don't like him in the 10 almost every time he has played there for England.

Didn't Beckham and Rooney get loads of unfair abuse from the media when they were our biggest stars and best players?  Not sure I agree at all with what he is saying in relation to Bellingham.  But like I say, I can't speak from a personal experience like he can.  Nor have I closely followed the media reporting on him.

I'd imagine part of the reason Bellingham has not been taken to hearts too much is due to barely ever playing in England, never in the premier league for example, same reason Argentina fans were indifferent to Messi for years perhaps.  He's also a bit of a prick IMO, but I like Ian Wright, always have done.

Like the majority here, originally thought we were blessed to have such a player and character, but now struggle to see past him being an arrogant, sometimes nasty, petulant twat. It just doesn't go down well in British culture.

We make them prime ministers all the time.

That is the world at the minute, racism has become almost normalised and it is acceptable to be openly racist.

Farage will likely get elected, people aren't interested in facts, they vote on emotion and what the right are best at is stirring up the emotional zeitgeist.  Blame immigrants for your shortcoming, don't believe the press, I'm the only one who can solve this.   Exactly what Trump has done and continues to do

Most of the messages are likely from people that have never heard of Farage and they won’t be reading any statements made by clubs like Wolves condemning it.

I'm reading black and British right now and this shit has been going on for centuries.

Even post emancipation there was a massive swing back to racism.

You can see it in other areas too, LGBT rights, the disabled. There's an invisible line where the general consensus feels like it's too much, which then swings into a backlash. There's probably a political theory based on my shitty observations.

Vincent Kompany‘s take on the Vini JR “situation“ against Benfica. Rarely have I seen such a good statement by a football coach. (Switches to English after 20 seconds)

Yeah, it’s an excellent response.  Mourinho’s comments were depressing - proper ‘I’ve got black friends’ stuff

Is John Yems that arsehole who was in charge of Crawley?  Only ever saw him be interviewed once but that was enough to show him up for the type of person he is.
