The Club, from Eales to Silverstone have told fans the club's position on this already.
-
Was he that bad? Genuinely can't remember but I just saw him as a bit of a nothing player who seemed to lack any sort of belief and got injured a lot as opposed to being absolutely terrible.
-
Yeah, that happened. Was all a bit weird. Think Chelsea may have had second thoughts and just found a reason to pull out.
-
No reason to compare signings against some of the biggest flops out there. If that's the standard, 80% of all signings are great deals, and not even just "okay/decent". Again, those clubs have a much higher budget than us, so they can pay more for the same players. Paying £40m is a bigger investment for us.
-
Nah, wasn't familiar with Romulo at all. Was only looking into him yesterday, and was quite taken back. I doubt we'd be looking at someone like that though. More likely to be someone with more Prem experience or playing in one of the higher ranked leagues.
-
Or four weeks later if you are Delap!
-
Not that it really matters, but we’ll have been getting some contribution towards his salary when he was out on loan. So maybe 9 grand a minute instead of 10…
-
Tottenham and Chelsea both heavily linked with Kudus, need to forget about him as an option. Dibling or go abroad.
-
Eddie is playing 3D chess, make them think we want Delap and Pedro, they spunk millions and we slide in and get Jonathan David.
-
Didn’t he fail his Chelsea medical too? Given their fetish for signings I didn’t think that was even possible.

João Pedro - Chelsea Agree Deal With Brighton (Ornstein)

All part of the plan to convince them to buy Pedro so we can nab Madueke on the cheap, cracking use of smokescreens, stalking horses and stupid journalists. On a serious note yeh it is a bit gutting but what can one do if those are his and his former club’s preferences? If you give me the choice I put my future development in Howe’s hands every time. Hope he enjoys his trips to the West End and 02 arena. -

In a world where Jadon Sancho costs £70 million, Mudryk £60 million, Solanke £60 million etc etc, Signing Harvey Barnes for less than £40 million is a great deal -
I don't have time for that level of financial detail.
-
Agreed the bulging squad only bites you in the arse though if you can't sell them or brings a toxic atmosphere to the club stopping players wanting to sign. I can see a fair few sales this summer which just replenishes the budget to go again. Unfortunately they are good at selling so while the place turns into a revolving door it doesn't appear to be harming them right now. I can't fathom why a player with a short career sit on the bench and be replaced by the "next big thing " sometimes by the following summer but guaranteed good wedge for 7 years will lighten the load somewhat.
-
I'm going for Grumpy Old Man. Similar condescending manner.
-
Samu would cost big money I think. He's dangerous in the box, and has a lot of power and pace, but not sure people would like him. His touch and control can be quite inconsistent.
-
Its more than time we started letting players go when they cant offer anything useful on the pitch...this "good in the dressing room' is a total small club mentality which we should be looking to be rid of

Real Madrid wouldn’t even spend £60m for someone to sit on the bench at 23. It’s not sensible squad building. -
Klopp's argument isn't about wanting or not wanting to watch it though. His argument is primarily the health of the players. What an absolute helmet Solhekol is.
-
He was released/out of contract but offered a contract. They said as much in their released statement. Wouldn’t read too much in to that
-
Would hope the club communicates it either way

I agree that buying Chelsea players is an option. They will go into next season with crazy squad depth no matter what though. JP is fully an Nkunku replacement. That’s mad. I do wonder if Maresca will continue with the full rotation in Europe and cups. They could probably do that in the group stage and get play offs in the CL.
