There’s no doubt he’s off form, which for me is a combination of heads gone from the red card but then the hip injury. Not been settled since and it’s seemingly impacted him more than it should. Players have off form, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Gordon is too in the camp of playing through pain, as we’ve with Isak and others this season. He’s still a hugely important player, especially the type of winger we need as we challenge the top end and need ball retention high up the pitch / in tight spaces.

Lineker forced to completely step down from BBC after final Match of the Day

I wonder if Pool might come in for him this summer?
-
Which doesn’t really make sense if they want to upgrade/challenge Martinelli. Nico Williams who plays left has definitely been linked.
-
To get those 3-4 players including replacing ageing squad players and developing young talent to provide a squad with quality in depth will, in my opinion, most likely take us 3 seasons with the financial restrictions applicable to us.
-
He's another with erratic finishing, we could do with signing some better finishers this summer.

Apparently the release clause for Garcia goes down to less than £13 million if Espanyol are relegated. They are 2 points clear of the drop heading into the final game.

The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)

Lads and lasses, if you can’t deal with the so called “jeopardy” that comes with being a successful competitive side, then you really should get some proper counselling for NUFC PTSD so you can start to enjoy life again We’ve won a cup, we’re in pole position to qualify for the CL and yet there’s people on here acting like the Sword of Damocles is hanging over our heads If you can’t feel positive about our current situation then you’ve definitely got some serious issues with anxiety, perspective and catastrophic thinking Enjoy it man. Stop fretting. The sky isn’t falling in. What will be, will be -

It’s been a brilliant season winning a cup for the first time in 70 years and whatever happens Howe and the players deserve huge amounts of credit. I do think missing CL considering where we’ve been sitting and what it could mean and the ramifications on recruitment and PSR it’d be a massive missed opportunity and a bit of a low and deflating at least temporarily. “If” we haven’t got it in us to put Everton away on Sunday (I think we will for that matter) then we will have to accept we just haven’t quite been good enough. -
Loved that bit of play when he got the ball edge of his own box, strode forward shrugging off his opponent and threading a through ball in behind their backline for Livramento.
-
Liverpool have Van Dijk and Konate, City have Dias and Akanji.. Does Arsenal have 2 right footers also?
-
Just having a bad season. Not helped by the absence of Hall.
-
No one wants to sell him - but if we have to sacrifice a signing for PSR imo it should be him. Barnes has shown he's more than capable to step up.

I'm not sure where I stand on him, he's been off it this season though for large parts. The intensity is lower and he doesn't seem focused. Hopefully Eddie can get him back on track, we just need another win and we are good.
-
I don't particularly want to sell him, I think he's great, but I think of all our players he's the one you could sell for big money and it'd hurt the team less. There's several wingers of an excellent standard you could buy for less than we sold him for.
-
Didn’t he give an interview when he basically admitted as much about his form at the start of the season?
-
Cue an Anthony Gordon perfect hattrick......against Everton.
-
Hopefully next week our front three (if no Isak) is: Murphy - Gordon - Barnes
-
Yes, it absolutely is. But that's not how we are set up, players make movement and runs based on when teammates switch the ball onto their striking foot. We've been playing with the same CB pairing for a while now (left footer at LCB and right footer at RCB). Same thing happens at fullback. There's a reason Tino and Barnes work so much better than Tino and Gordon on the left and it's why Hall and Gordon was such a good partnership. Hall as a left footer will naturally pass the ball down the line, towards the corner flag for Gordon to run onto, but Tino is always slightly further inside using his right foot, so his passes to Gordon/Barnes head towards the corner of the opposition box, which is exactly what Barnes wants as he drives towards goal but it's not what Gordon wants as he prefers to move out wide, face his player up and then make his move.

I think technically he's just a bit limited, which stops him being a top top player. Very good on his day though.
