Growing up in Washington gives you a different 'appreciation' of mackems, which my cousins in the west end etc would never have. Always found it weird why it seemed like the whole of sunderland would go out for derby day, even lasses who have no interest in footy. They will literally sell more Season 'cards' on the back of the derby, I know they've broke it down into halves before so people could guarantee the mags game, we are their whole world. I'm resigned to them fluking it on penalties but hope i'm wrong.

Ditto those above who said Zabarnyi, but Bournemouth are unfortunately in a position to demand what Palace were demanding for Guehi last summer so if it's between the two I'd say go for Guehi and save £30-40m or whatever
-
Zabarnyi. Although I believe Bournemouth are only planning to let two players leave and they will be Huijsen and Kerkez.
-
I always find it is the more casual supporters that don't go to many games want the derby back. Fuck clean off, man.
-
Who do you prefer Guehi or Zabarnyi?

How old are you (genuine question)? You’ve never understood it? Or you stopped understanding it recently? If you never understood it then you’re just being a bit silly. We could go back to the 80s but let‘s just look at the last 20 years or so. Once Abramovich came in it was Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool, then a lot of other teams without silly money and struggling to break into the CL. Levy decided to strip things back, get a ton of kids in and build for the long term. Eventually we got good enough to be consistently top 5 or 6 - after 4th in 2009/10 we finished at least 6th (and usually higher) until 2021 when we were 7th. We’ve gone through this a million times. We were one of the top six clubs in the league and income for over a decade. It’s really not difficult to understand. Are we one of the top 6 clubs or the “sly 6” or whatever you’re annoyed about? You’d have to define your terms, but I’d guess not, we just finished 17th. To say we’re not a financial juggernaut is a bit peculiar though.

Since we've won a trophy and been in the CK we're taking for granted how much of an achievement it is to do what Spurs have done tbh They've been shit this season in the league but they still had to finish in Europe last year and then win the Europa. -
Can highly recommend the latest Talk of the Devils podcast

True, them being part of a top 6 in recent years is fair. But I think it's the very idea there's a 'big 6' (especially when it came to the super league). Just starts to seem a bit too broad and silly, they're not on the level of the others. Getting to the CL final did quite rightly boost their stock though.

I would gladly took relegation never mind 17th!

Looks like it has that bubble pattern that was mentioned for our home shirt
-
They've been pretty consistent top 5/6 finishers for 15 or so years to be fair.
-
Totally agree. They're always the worst 2 games of the season. Too nervy, can't enjoy them. I've always thought NUFC fans who say they need to be playing Sunderland every season to enhance their enjoyment a bit weird tbh. I get far more enjoyment looking down at them rotting in the lower leagues.
-
Think getting to the CL final was crucial for them being seen that way. Without that it'd be ridiculously tenuous.
-
it goes to show how much of an elite manager Taggart was - they’ve been a mess since he retired and spunked a fortune on horrific transfers! Lovely!
-
They've already agreed on cunha and strong links with delap There's 100 million for starters
-
The amount of years as fans where we've said, "I'll take 17th in the league if we could finally win a Cup", and Spurs have done exactly that.
-
He's spat the dummy and blocked them for reposting Man Utd are completely finished now mind. They needed CL just to satisfy PSR and that was before they strengthened their squad. Won't be able to invest in a team that isn't going to hit the 40 point mark this season and won't be able to move on any of the dead wood because no other club will be stupid enough to pay the wages that these are. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.

Linked with the Rent Boys. But who isn’t?
-
LCB and LB - I wonder which player who has since left for Juve used to play those positions

Only knows how to copy and paste from his previous transfer update. Doesn't matter if that article was last week or last transfer window.
