I’d sell any player in squad if a serious bid come in of £100m+ It’s dumb money at that point, where it doesn’t matter how good that one player is, you can strengthen the squad a lot more with £100m that also has greater future impact.
-
I'm sure we'd like both, but we'll have to be prepared to pay about £20-30m extra in total which would be could be described as Howe tax.
-
Think it would end up being a mistake but 100m is very hard to turn down. Going into the season needing new wingers on both sides is brutal though.
-
Merde absolue de la part d'un journaliste nul.
-
I know the media need any old story for clicks especially on Sundays, but the rumours of 70-100m to Liverpool are impressive, surely we'd rip their hand off for that.
-
Bullshit test. English clubs, Swedish player. French journalist exclusive? ❌
-
Has there been any update since Hope reported the initial enquiry?

I'd move out anyone that's not top 4. So I'd move out Longstaff, Willock and a few others. i'd take anything over. 15m, thats the going rate for a mid table midfielder that does a job but nothing more or less. We need to move to the next level, this season is ahuge chance to do that.
-
If it’s both I’ll never piss the bed again.
-
Can’t Pedro also play CM? Emergency backup right there.
-
So is it Elanga or Joao Pedro or both?
-
Think what I like about our chances of this is we play a brand of football that upsets the bigger sides who we'd need to take points off to achieve that. Other sides try and just play the same brand of football better vs the top sides whereas our style and identity is uniquely different. There are teams I dread to play because theyre bogey sides, but not one single team now that I don't think we can beat, and not because it's an 'on our day' job, because we're good enough to go toe to toe with anyone now.
-
Is he even better than Longstaff? Doubt it.
-
Sell Longstaff, buy the Rudoni lad from Coventry for about the same cash, you've lost nothing, and gained something.
-
More than fair opening bid if true. £45m plus add-ons I reckon.
-
My only concern with regards to letting him go would be the HG quota, but I would also be looking Krul and Forster to help that. It looks like we won’t be doing that. Ideally I would sell Longstaff and actually use our scouts to find a cheap young player that could develop into something good. And I would sell Willock to fund a proper 4th choice midfielder that we can rely on. Willock has 2 years left and Longstaff has one, if they don’t have a long term future then you sell now. It’s time to sell or give new contracts.
-
EXCLUSIVE Newcastle had their first £40m offer rejected for Anthony Elanga Nottingham Forest demand at least £50m to let go of their winger, who scored 6 goals and provided 11 assists in the PL. Elanga wants to join, but negotiations look set to be tough.
-
Aye, I coukd use a bath.
-
I know I've said this previously and I really hate repeating myself but, please, just sign some fucka. Anyone to get us excited for next season. I'm begging you Eddie lad.
-
Should always fall into the discussion around if you accept an offer for a player can you find a replacement who is better/younger/just as good/can you afford to replace them etc. Issue right now is who we are actively telling they can find a new club or actively promotion a player is available not sure Howe wants anyone to leave as seems like he often feels it's this group of lads that got us here so deserves our respect. Marrying that up with not becoming stale but not unresting the dynamic in the dressing room will be a hard but brutal nessesscity if we want to evolve and improve.
-
Generally I wonder how much sales really affects the budget? I don't think the club will maximize the amortization for the coming season with those money. Maybe it's something in between, like sell a player for £10m and then add £20m into the budget? The healthiest thing long term would generally be to not spend more than the money you get, but this is a pretty important window, and finishing higher can also generate so much more anyways. It just depends on how much of a gamble you would want to do for the near future.
-
I would like to think they've ripped them off - I mean Chelsea way overpaid for Caceido and Cucurella
-
well there is that I have no issue with how they operate as they are doing what they need to do to survive. As opposed to Chelsea who are literally making a mockery of the league and showing the world how corrupt it is.

We’re tantalising close to a team who can challenge top 3 imo. Really hope we go for it this summer
