Fed up of all this talk about phases and stages with regards transfers and “the project”. Guess we’ll be moving more into a 4-4-2 shape out of possession which we have seen at times with Gordon when up alongside Isak. Wouldn’t be shocked if Pedro ends up in a similar role to Joelinton, as in moving more into a central midfield, but then a better player in final third.

Whatever the aim, you can only get there so quickly. If we hadn’t signed these players that people are so sure will want to leave, we wouldn’t be anywhere near the top of the league. We need more of those players that are ‘too good’ to stay here, surely? Otherwise how can we ever bridge the gap. If every good player is allowed to leave in the meantime, we’ll never progress. That’s the Brighton model.
