I remember when we bought him it was said he could play at CB as well. Not seen him actually do that for us, but it does show his value as a defender.
  3. He seems to carry the ball very well down the left side and have an ability to take players on down that side. But I agree he would likely be equally good down the right now he has found his form This is the very reason we should hold on to him bar for an insane offer. The ability to play two positions to a very high standard is worth its weight in gold
  4. I'm with you there Mike, he's the boyo. Let's Heaven's Gate it if he doesn't sign.

Obviously doesn’t tell everything, but the Cup win and his performance there against Salah probably also gave him a mega boost. It somehow felt like he came off age there, like properly. I know he has done well at LB before that as well but it could be that he didn’t feel quite as confident those periods where he played RB. As well as a different player in front of him too as mentioned.
  6. It might be a coincident or a combination of the players he has infront of him. But I remember it from the previous season aswell that he always looked more dangerous in attack coming in from the left. By all means it very well might be that he has a potential on the right aswell that he is yet to unlock, but I think its safe to say that he hasn't unlocked it yet. On the defensive side of things i think he is awesome in both positions, so its not like I think he isn't a great RB, just feels like a more complete player on the left for now atleast.

Would love to see JP here and Big Willie to come good.

Ferguson's stock has fallen away too much for Chelsea I feel. In fact, he'd be quite a Newcastle signing, if we didn't already have Osula sitting on the bench most games. Apropos of all this, I have a suspicion that if we are really interested in Pedro - he'd come in as a No 10, "locksmith"-type of player in a 4-2-3-1, we would forego signing a right-sided forward, and next season would be Osula's "Lewis Hall breakthrough" season on the right.
  9. Good article or bad article, still no getting away from Holt being an obnoxious mouthpiece for the cartel clubs. He'd love to be padel spanked by Thomas Frank, that's the overriding impression you get from reading that piece.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

i was pointing out it’s already been established that the account saying sane to Newcastle is fake
  11. Bruce wasn't too good for even Ashley's Newcastle though.
  12. Are people trolling when they say they’d have Madueke for 50m over Elanga for the same money? I’d completely understand if they thought we could get him on the cheap (as he’s got a lot Howe can work with) but the guy is one of the most frustrating wingers in the league; still plays like a raw, selfish teenager. Bit of a knob too by all accounts. For the same money you go Elanga every time, surely.

I just think this whole idea that he's a better LB than RB is overblown on the basis of him doing well at LB. That doesn't mean he's not a great RB, it just means he might have not had a great spell for a few games early in the season when quite a few players were off their game.

I have decided (I have not seen him play outside of one youtube compilation) that if we don't sign Rooney Bardhji (i looked up how to spell it twice and still missed) I will literally die.
  15. Chelsea trying to get Maignon for 12.5 million ffs

Kostoulas is only 18. Wonder if they'll be binning off Evan Ferguson and who'd buy him.
  17. Sancho played a fair bit last season and he’s effectively replacing him and getting a pay rise plus he was there as a kid. Even if it doesn’t work out he’ll have his reputation largely intact. Pretty low risk move for him.
  18. Gittens must be daft as a brush to go there. Pissing away his potential
  19. Easy to forget that Brentford have dropped near £80m on Thiago, Carvallho, Van den berg. Shifting to Brighton recent model, where the buys are needing to be £20m-£35m mark and it makes the deals if they don’t work out more costly long term.
  20. That’s a wild fee for someone who’s played one pro season
  21. That's genuinely some fantastic reffing. Good job.
  22. Am I the only sad cunt watching this shite?

  24. The new Kostas Mitroglu
  25. At the same time we had amazing success with buying non prem at first with Bruno, Isak, Botman - later on Tonali then stopped. The prem players we bought were great also but it seems we can buy well from overseas so why not get excited if the club looks at them
