Beardsley and Keegan played one season together, the promotion season. The season before was Varadi. Im guessing those tops were a case of grab whatever tops for a photo, as you say maybe used for training..... also the last current Newcastle top I ever owned.

Interesting, Alamy says "Newcastle United Players, Terry McDermott, Chris Waddle and Peter Beardsley enjoy a cup of tea ahead of training session at Benwell, Thursday 5th January 1984. The players face Liverpool in the FA Cup tomorrow at Anfield. (match score Liverpool 4-0 Newcastle)" - https://www.alamy.com/newcastle-united-players-terry-mcdermott-chris-waddle-and-peter-beardsley-enjoy-a-cup-of-tea-ahead-of-training-session-at-benwell-thursday-5th-january-1984-the-players-face-liverpool-in-the-fa-cup-tomorrow-at-anfield-match-score-liverpool-4-0-newcastle-image465185810.html This would suggest you're right. Confused as to why they're wearing the 82/3 kit in the picture. Perhaps they trained in old kits back then.

The pic is from KKs 2nd season. The promotion season.

Think it must have been 82/3 as a different badge in 83/4 and Terry Mac joined in 82.
  6. Or they watch football
  7. He looks great, is it the no socks thing ?

Was that 83-84? What a season. It was great to come out of the depression of the pre KK playing era. Found myself watching KKs toon debut v QPR (1982) on YouTube again today. Still spine tingling watching his winner and seeing the limbs all over the packed Gallowgate. Thought I was dreaming watching that back then.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Correct. Might as well get who we need this window and take a points hit from PL and fine from UEFA.
  11. It crossed my mind that someone would Google it 😂😂😂

Strangely for him better going forward than defending on the right but seemed to be playing a strange role almost covering centre mid at times.

He was a bit off his game today probably more fatigue than anything.
  14. Actually googled that. Girlfriend saw me google. Now thinks I’m looking for gay male porn stars. So thanks for that.
  15. He wasn't really involved in the first half. Had a few decent bits in the second half, but the game kind of passed him by imo. He didn't do much wrong, but wasn't massively involved
  16. Yet another anti-competitive aspect of PSR is that it effectively gives the non-cap teams veto power over transfers from any team subject to a cap (i.e. us), since they can so easily outbid on fees and wages, even if they don’t actually want or need the player as much as we do.
  17. I think he'll happily come if Chelsea haven't thrown their hat into the ring.
  18. I can handle the slow progress, but at least give me some fake juicy rumours for me to YouTube scout at least. Pathetic from journos tbh, more than happy to be lied to at this trying time.
  19. That "nobody watches" thing always strikes me as weird. Maybe it's not a big deal in Europe, but it's huge in Africa, Asia, and other places, and people are definitely watching. The club world cup goes far beyond Europe, they do not target Europe-only audience. For now Europe's acting all high and mighty. But with the money being thrown around, I bet the next few tournaments will be huge here, just like they are elsewhere. It'll be as big as the Champions League before long, I reckon. The money's too good for clubs to ignore. I personally hope We qualify for the next one. Hate or love it, it was always going to be a huge success.
  20. Bro played 230 times for my all-conquering Burton Albion team on FM2020 and still only 25. That's why i want him.
  21. We were pretty quick put the blocks, but Huijsen and Delap went elsewhere.
  22. I guess we’ll see but the cynic in me says he’ll be happy to sit on the bench for Chelsea playing the odd minute here or there in Exchange for ludicrous wages and the opportunity to join the rest of the soulless mercenaries that make up their squad.
  23. They're clearly trying to do business early. What's your point?
