I agree with TCD on this as well. We can't keep spending less than our rivals and hope we keep performing better every season. We have to capitalise on scraping into the CL this time round. If it works then we get a chance to keep growing the club. If it fails, then we will sell off our stars and start again. That will most likely happen anyway if other clubs invest more season on season.

Rightly so. People built up loyalty points for years only to now not be able to go because someone who picks and chooses which games they want to go to decides they fancy away games once again. The system works the way it is, it rewards loyalty. So let's just leave it.

Think that's definitely how the club have looked at deals before (Tino, Hall). What premium is paid in the here and now you save for many more seasons.

If the current ground location becomes a Wembley type avenue with parkland and amenities each side, with the listed Leazes Terrace overlooking, I can't see how that's not anything but a vast improvement on the existing cityscape. Other than parkrun, the end of Leazes Park for the new stadium doesn't offer much at all.

I would love this at NUFC only for the absolute fume it would generate from ST Holders. We might see our first bedsheet protest in years.

Idk I was just exaggerating but also it’s imperative we build a squad. Strong first XI and strong second XI. Not having anything below the regulars has really held us back.

If the ground was built on leazers you can imagine there would soon be bars, restaurants, bookies, entertainment pop up over the years stretching the center of town out that way. Even if it was somewhere further you would still need somewhere for fans to gather before or after the games. Plus a new ground need to make sure it has more income being generated outside of match days.

I do for the most part but still get Roobenstein, Adam Pearson et all popping up on Youtube because I made the mistake of watching some random vid 3 years ago.

I wouldn't consider it in the city centre really, most people aren't going to walk to the town moor for a quick lunch break etc.

Purely guesswork but the planning permission will be submitted when the club make a statement on it, otherwise it would be on the Newcastle planning portal with all related documents without any prior notification to the public.

Outside looking in it would seem a crazy choice. If they got 90 points again next season they'll probably go up.

I agree with TCD for the most part. The odds are we'll lose one or possibly two of our top players next summer, hopefully for a substantial amount of money. Getting Champions League football again doesn't guarantee those players staying but it does make us a much more attractive proposition to the players we look to recruit. How we invest that money from selling Isak, Tonali, Gordon, whoever matters and we'll be able to bring in a much better calibre of player if we have both the money and the prestige of repeated CL qualification.
