Liverpool rarely sell youngsters that go on to become top players. Quansah is 22. If they had high hopes for him they would keep him and sell Konate for whatever they could get.
-
Yeah think on reflection I'd put Colback in my midfield over Butt - even though I thought Butt was terrible bar I think he had a patch under Keegan when he was okay?
-
Colback ends the thread easily.
-
Amdy Faye, though I'm not sure he played enough games. Shocking player and up there with the worst I've seen for us. Alan Smith is the obvious one, aye.
-
Chelsea bound. Not even taking the piss either.
-
Not sure where I read it, quite probably on this forum, but some were saying Clark being dropped for Batty was just a big factor (or bigger) than the Tino signing as to why we didn't win the league.
-
Remember lots of stories about Jamie Burt when I was growing up. Apparently a hell of a talent who outshone Michael Owen at school boy level.
-
Lee Clark was sensational, one of my first footballing heroes I absolutely worshipped him as a kid.
-
I've got the full tape of that match/show. Dalglish and Keegan being interviewed inside with the singing outside and in the background of the Sky studio, the show ended with Richard Keys saying "we've got to go, otherwise these boys (motions to the crowd behind) aren't going home tonight" Really felt like an apology for ever doubting KK and a re-energising. Always remember letting out an orgasmic squeak when Clarky cocked to shoot for the winner* - Blackburn were probably my least favourite team at the time, just bothered (and intimidated) me they had all that money and played unattractive football. *edit: watching at home I should add. Was one of my favourite wins, if not the favourite, at the time, gets forgotten now. Still got the science book with the score doodled on to verify that.

I'll go for a midfield of Obertan Smith Butt Duff
-
Elliott Simpson S. Taylor Williamson Dummett
-
We surely have to do an XI?
-
Colback and Alan Smith both have to be up there, imo.
-
And the north sea doesn't half take its fair share marra
-
Oh and Jack Colback
-
... and also, to be perfectly honest, there's something slightly noncey about Marc-spelled-with-a-'c'. Don't @ me.
-
Nile Ranger, Paul Dummett, and Steven Taylor would be others I’d put forward
-
Mike Williamson. He couldn’t trap a medicine ball
-
Stephen Carr was pretty shit for us
-
Yeah think he'd be my choice too
-
Are we talking ASM or Lee Ryder dribbling?
-
Who's the worst player to play over 50 games for us?
-
I think within the next 3 years Leverkusen make a healthy profit on him, selling him back to a club in the Premier League. He's very inconsistent at the minute and really just needs regular minutes in the first team, which I imagine he'll get at Leverkusen. When he got a good run due to Liverpool's injuries the season before last, he flashed a lot of promise. Think he has a really high ceiling if it all comes together. He's only just turned 22 this year and so plenty time on his side for a centre half. His data looks really good for a centre back of his age playing in the Premier League. Not at all surprised Leverkusen were happy to pay what they did. I'm sure they're confident they'll get that back and more in a few years, especially with him being English and filling that home grown quota for Prem teams.
