Yeah, feels like his confidence went a bit last season in the prem and he admitted to being a bit moody when he didn't get his move. Probably that mental resilience, ability to move on quickly from setbacks is something that comes from experience. I know Burn's talked about that being the case with him. What Lescott and Cole are saying about him is exciting, though he still hasn't had one good season at the top level yet.

Glad that Graeme Bailey has not been right about a single thing in his journalistic career.
-
He’s been very inconsistent but has had some patches of great form. He’s only 19 I think so still plenty of time to come good. He's the sort of gamble Chelsea can afford but we can’t.
-
Not bothered if true. This Bailey cunt knows nothing though. I don’t see them wanting less either tbh.
-
Fair play. Looks like they're looking to keep their best players and try and continue to challenge for European places too.

As a proud Bedlington lad may I suggest Jane Middlemiss' tits?
-
Apparently not that highly rated.
-
He’s not rated in Germany?

Chelsea have upped their offer for Gittens up to £42m. Dortmund will be laughing all the way to the bank (according to German fans)

Pre-season (2025/26) - NUFC to play Atletico Madrid in Sela Cup
Shadow Puppets replied to bowlingcrofty's topic in Football
Apparently (and apologies if this is common knowledge), that an additional fixture for the Sela cup will be added for the Friday night. Don't know who it'll be yet. This isn't from the usual sources, so don't shoot the messenger, but expecting an announcement by mid next week I believe. -
He’d be twice the price if he had a year or two’s more experience in the PL which is why we need him now, not later. Best case scenario is he’s really good this season, gets in ahead of Pickford for England at the World Cup and we have the best “young” keeper in the world. He’s absolutely worth any kind of gamble for that price since we’d probably get it back, if not more, if he cant get to the level we need.

What about people who put an apostrophe in 000s?

Nice to have a good, young goalkeeper. Just have to make sure we sell him before he becomes old Trafford...
-
Its probably (understatement) too many changes but you could add Gordon to the outgoings (£80m?) and bring in Kluivert for £45m bringing the net spend a little closer to £100m. I wouldn't do that trade in isolation but overall the team is much stronger in this champ man tastic scenario

We are also getting to the point where we will need to start raising our wage ceiling if we want the best players. At the moment we will lose some players because we just can't pay as much as the cartel. We've done brilliantly to keep punching above our weight, but that won't continue forever.
-
Lovely, then we should hopefully have 100 of them!

Pre-season (2025/26) - NUFC to play Atletico Madrid in Sela Cup

Yeah I mean it probably is enough, just going off previously years where we usually have had 6-7 games. TBF that usually includes double headers like the Sela Cup which are two different teams. -
Scouts would be getting paid 'normal' wages - 50-60k a year. It's mostly part time so probably even less than that

Failing to put a comma before the 000's would be as bad as putting your socks on before your underpants And using K is for spivs. Wouldn't trust a user of K as far as I could throw them. Sorry if that offends any spivs who read this, but it's based on extensive real life experiences

Still concerned about going with an inexperienced, young goalkeeper as our number one in such a big season. Would love to keep Pope as our number one and introduce Trafford slowly, with the ability to take him out of the limelight and have an assured, reliable counterpart. A couple of mistakes and a knock in confidence could leave us in a bit of crisis, and at 22 it is very likely those moments will come. I think he will be a quality player in time, but there's a reason why goalkeepers often look at their best in their early-mid thirties.

On the flip side I had just got to my hotel in New York when we announced Rafa as boss and I went out in the city that night and had a great time. Crazy how good Rafa made it seem during his time here.

He's communicating through body language - "This is me, I'm a massive twat".
