Thats suicide going into a huge season. We need to be able to rotate or we'll struggle big time

I'm dreading the moment people, maybe legitimately, start kicking off and openly question if the people currently negotiating for players are actually capable of getting a big deal done for a player we want. Could be completely off-beam here but we seem to move so slowly in virtually all aspects of running the club. Obviously none of us know this but the speed and urgency we seem to operate at comes across as a bit embarrassing. Whether it's signing a big player or replacing a key exec or getting a decision on a stadium or training ground it always seems to take an age to happen relative to how other clubs operate. This isn't a toys out of the pram post by any stretch but the failure to follow up on the most successful season in decades is frustrating. The momentum seems to have been killed in the last 5 weeks as we've essentially stood still while others have moved quickly and strengthened. Not saying it's easy but other clubs seem to be dynamic and reactive to opportunities and benefit directly from it. We seem to be just plodding along
-
Just stick with the players we've got if last season's saga with Guehi was anything to go by. I think Howe does tend to stick with his very small pool of players he wants in, if we can't get them then we hold fire and maybe just sign young hopefuls.

Brilliant. Thank you.

Speculation, but even if so that would be a stupid decision. We can’t afford to forego top talent going for reasonable fees because they want an out in case things don’t work out and a bigger club comes calling. In Dean Huijsen’s case Bournemouth had a very good defender in their ranks and tripled their money inside a year. It was definitely a gamble worth taking at the time. Besides, what’s to say such players don’t come to appreciate our club and may stay for years. After all, we’re a club going places and a great place to play football at the moment. If he’d come here and with us qualifying for CL and winning a cup, there’d be every chance he’d be willing to stay on and perhaps even renegotiate terms. We’d be handicapping ourselves massively if we would insist that players can’t have release clauses.
