    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I don't think they did any until deal was done
  3. Fair enough, we're both advocating for a rule change to the current one
  4. Got the email about the auto renewal. Had fuck all about it failing but I assume it has as I think I closed the credit card linked to the account. Yet I can't seem to find anywhere on the website that clearly indicates said failure. The website is still such absolute dogshit to navigate, especially on mobile.
  5. People might disagree but he reminds me of Gordon.
  6. No he shouldn't have re-taken it. That's the point I'm making. He should have just got given the goal. I don't see why slipping and double hitting should allow be re-taken, but slipping and hitting it once wouldn't be. As long as it's one obvious motion the outcome should just be whatever happens from the penalty itself.
  7. I think a retake, no matter if he scored or didn't, is the fairest outcome
  8. Mitro should have been allowed a retake if i was deciding the rules
  9. What if the opposition have scuffed up the penalty run up in order to facilitate a slip? Would you have let Mitro retake the penalty he scored against us that then got disallowed?
  10. Just as easy to put us all in a position where it doesn't benefit us. ie the opposite of Mitrovic a couple of years back. Just seems like another change that wasn't needed and no one asked for.
  11. TL;DR, I'm sure it's a load of pish though. Stop shagging your calculator, forget comparing the noncey stats of some shitey championship players and remind yourself of the real facts of the matter: Your club is a wretched bilge of detritus. Your fans are braindead knuckle draggers who can't accept the fact that you are, always have been and always will be 'that other team in the North East' and that your shit splat town is often referred to as 'the place near Newcastle'. There isn't one thing your club does better than ours.
  12. Sounds like a JDP nonce. Do not want.
  13. I don't really agree. Players can accidentally slip and skew it wide etc. I don't know why you'd give them a second bite of the cherry if they slip but are lucky enough to hit it twice by mistake in the process. That's just bailing out a fuck up. It should just be that an element of common sense is applied that the penalty is legit if it is taken in all one obvious movement, whether they score or not, and not afford them another go just because they slipped in very specific context of a double hit.
  14. How reliable is the Krul coming back talk?
  15. why do you regularly post snotty little remarks like this?
  16. I know it's a few days old but Kev Lawson did a canny piece on players who we could be targeting. https://substack.com/home/post/p-164976057
  17. Saw him in the flesh on Saturday ebening. Came on for the second half in Malaga's 2-2 draw at home to Burgos. I'd say he's a long way off PL standard but he's got a good touch and takes a very decent set piece. Not as fast as he looks on YouTube albeit not slow and there wasn't too much cause for him to get up to full speed as the game was predominately played in front of the defence. Played a bit on the right before switching to the left where he looked more at home, he proper hugged the touchline on both and seemed fairly comfortable off both feet despite being right footed. Don't think the Malaga fans are particularly pleased he's fucking off on a free. Came on to near silence opposed to the other subs. Makes it or not, it’s probably the lowest risk transfer we’ve made in years so good luck to the lad.
  18. @patrone @bobbydazzla Finally… a benefit of auto renewal I can highlight Unless you don’t need to be a member to purchase?
  19. You can't tell me that if Isak accidentally slipped on a crucial penalty in a cup final and touched it twice that there wouldn't be any complaints on here It seems like common sense to me to update it? It's not like they're allowing people to tee themselves up
  20. The whole point of the double touch rule is to stop players taking the ball on and dribbling with it towards goal. The accidental double touch has always been an unfortunate punishment for this, but ultimately a necessary evil I guess. I really don't think a double touch penalty should mean it gets re-taken. However I would lean towards a rule that means it doesn't get ruled out if it's clearly all one movement/kick. The Alvarez one was the case in point here. To the naked eye it was demonstrably no different to a clean hit and shouldn't have been ruled out IMO. It was particularly egregious in this case because it was in a shootout where the ball is immediately dead anyway, and there is actually no reason to have the double touch rule enforced in that context.
  21. He's fucking shit. It's Alan Smith all over again.
  22. Honestly gonna’ need transfer therapy at the end of this
  23. Less rare with VAR. It would've been imperceptible without it. It was barely perceptible with it.
